Marvel's Avengers new feature

Square Enix will now remove the controversial gameplay-related MTX from Marvel’s Avengers

Last month, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have added some gameplay-related microtransactions to Marvel’s Avengers. Needless to say that this frustrated a lot of fans. After all, Crystal Dynamics had previously promised that it would never do such a thing in this particular game. And today, almost a month after their inclusion, Square Enix revealed that it will be removing both Hero’s Catalysts and Fragment Extractors.

Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics claimed that Hero’s Catalysts and Fragment Extractors will no longer be available for purchase. However, they will continue to be earnable rewards, and those owning them can still use them.

The companies concluded that their removal is a step to rebuild their confidence with their fans. Whether this is “too little too late” though remains to be seen.

  1. Reality is that nobody spent a dime on the microtransactions so Square Enix opted to remove them as they only cause havoc.

“Considering your feedback” yeah for sure.

  2. Only game that matters from this POS company is deus ex that is it make a new one i couldn’t give 2 cents about this crap

      1. Yes he does. Some people just can’t let go of certain things no matter what. No one loves Mass Effect franchise than i do, but after the 4th one i turned my back on that series. beat 1,2 &3 15-20x each. Saw the 4th one and said, “Fuq that noise”. Gotta know when to let go man.

        1. 3rd one did it for me with that ending, then the revised ending…mass effect strong start crap ending of a series

        2. They’ll change once they “Remaster” Them And do next to NO WORK! Look at Crysis, that’s a disgrace man.

      2. I personally really liked it i found it a bit short but that’s about it in fact i plan on replying it soon as i never played the DLC in it.

Very rare to find games that are stealth related and feature decent storylines.

      3. Either they’ll reboot Deus Ex or will Remake the first one.
        That’s how the industry’s going …
Eidos Montreal never created an original IP.

  3. They knew that they couldn’t keep it up indefinitely so they set a goal for how much they wanted to make and once that goal was reached they said hey, we’re listening to you and we’re going to remove the paid consumables.See, we really do listen to your feedback.

  4. Only in a world as collectively stupid as ours, can this company continue to exist.

If humanity had any level of a respectable average intelligence, SE, Ubisoft, EA, blah blah blah, would have either changed drastically for the better, or gone bankrupt by now.

Who ever said the stupidity of others can’t hurt you? Well, take a look around these days. The stupidity of others absolutely can hurt you, and not just in the video game hobby either.

  5. SE: Should we stop making some dumb mistakes lately?
    Me: Yes!

When companies start doing better again, then I don’t mind giving them praise.

  6. I hope the ones who were lied to remember this the next time their considering another game from the company.. if it starts to hurt the bottom line – perhaps we could finally start to see a real change from the lying etc
