Last week, Crytek released two trailers for Crysis Trilogy, featuring PC gameplay footage from Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered. And, since those trailers passed under my radar, I’ve decided to share them with you today.
These trailers will give you an idea of what you can expect from their PC versions. Unfortunately, though, Crytek has not released any comparison videos between the vanilla and the remastered PC versions. And, to be honest, Crysis 3 Remastered looks similar to what I experienced back in 2013.
Both Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered will have HD Textures. Additionally, they come with improved lighting & visually enhanced characters, weapons, and environments.
Crysis Remastered Trilogy will release on October 15th, and will support NVIDIA’s DLSS tech.
Enjoy!

Perhaps its just me, but it looks exactly the same.
Cryengine still use old DX11 so it can’t use modern features like DX12 raytracing or complex lighting. It is last engine which still use DX11. Even Amazon Lumberyard which was branched from Cryengine source code now support DX12 Ultimate (since April 2021)
No one gives a single fck about your DX/MS/Xbox advertising
Game use 12 years old API that don’t have access to any new features of modern GPU from last 10 years. This is why game looks just like other DX11 games from 2009
So they are basically pointless cashgrabs
Man…are you blind or what?
Those 2 games are outstanding and graphically more advanced than 99% of the garbage that comes out today!
Go to the ophthalmologist bro …. you and all the others in this forum who criticize Crysis!!!
Your reading comprehension is non existent.
im clearly talking about the remasters, of course the og games aged like wine (specially the first one) thus this remasters are pointless for anyone that already experienced them on PC.
Engine still don’t support basic features like HDR or dynamic resolution scaling which are supported by other engines for at least 4-5 years.
Two years ago Crytek promised version 5.7 with DX12 in 2020, and 5.8 with DXR in 2021. Engine is still in version 5.5 with only DX11
In my opinion instead Crysis 2 and 3 could easily be considered as games of the present (especially the incoming remastered, which will raise the bar one more notch), because they were absolutely gorgeous and graphically superior to anything that existed at the time!
Way ahead of their time!
Games have static lighting, no physically based materials, no global illumination, no raytracing, no mesh shaders. Last version of CryEngine was released in 2013 when GPU had less features than today
It looks way better than the average game of 2011
Shut the f**k up man….we are on a site that talks about PC hardware and software…so why should nobody be interested in what he said? I am interested, idiot!
You’re interested by the comments of an advertising/spamming MS bot, a lot of them used to comment on this site always using the same patterns, i’m clearly not the idiot here

They added SVOGI, reworked lighting on the levels, upgraded some textures and added RT reflections on PC.
It’s basically an official mod.
Back when weapons had a punchy sound instead of sounding like a hookah.
Love both, but specially Crysis 2. It’s a very good FPS game, with great variety in gameplay.
Go look at Crysis 1 Demaster Steam forums. Shills are running rampant over there trying to defend it.
I actually thought Crysis 3 was pretty damn good, even the ending was decent. Looked amazing then, looks amazing still.
Don’t see a difference with this “remaster” though.
I enjoyed it a lot more than C2 but not as much as Warhead or C1. I hated C2, had there not been a game drought at the time I played it Id have stopped playing half way through.
you say this but they re-released schizm and blade of darkness
Wait for the release of these 2 games and the analysis of Alex Battaglia before giving useless and unfounded judgments….I saw beautiful graphics in the trailers…graphics that 99% of the crap that comes out today does not manage to achieve!
go to your ophthalmologist!
Crysis 2 and 3 still looks pretty i couldnt play the games at 60 fps with my hardware then. Now i do playing them at 120/144 at max settings.
Not going back to the remaster if i cant play max settings higher than 60
Yeah this remaster fest seems like just a cash grab attempt without any optimisation especially for PC. In some case, they are worst to perform than the original without any significant visual improvement.
It’s amazing that Crytek is still around. There was a point a few years ago when they couldn’t even pay their employees for months at a time. That happened at least twice. They closed half of their studios to keep from going bankrupt. They need to come up with a good game idea.
Hunt: Showdown is a great game and I think that they have sold several copies of the game … and it’s the original game you’re talking about!
Have you ever tried it?
I wont get tired of saying this, the remakes/remasters are made for the new consoles…so they have at least something to play on. They are basically charging 60 bucks for a similar (or worse, just looking at the first Crysis demaster) experience you already got at the time of the og releases on PC.
PATHETIC
Looks pretty much the same. Some minor lighting improvement/change, and some increased texture sharpness is all I see different!
i think it looks pretty awesome….its almost as if they took parts 2 n’ 3 and somehow raised the resolution!!!..it’ll be pretty cool to play a 2010 game in 4k…impressive stuff. hark, there be scientists about, and they work at saber.
Even the torrent version I f*king don’t care.
i liked the first far cry and crysis 1
Some A/B comparisons, what little I could get from the screenshots I had from my last playthrough in late 2019 at 3456×1944 (not quite 4k.)

Captures from YT are pretty poor since it’s so compressed. But you can really see that the highly stylized, high contrast, bright saturated color palette is gone. Lighting looks more natural but feels like it has lost some of what made the original look unique.
It’s too bad they can’t just create 2 visual modes “Natural, Original”. Because, really with Maldo’s mod the only thing you are really missing imo is the improved Anti Aliasing and DLSS. (As you can see in the screenshots, this was early TAA where double images were unfortunately more visible an artifact. The the same artifacts still exist in other ways with modern TAA however)
You know the whole remaster fad got out of hand when even Crysis 3, a game that arguably didn’t really need any touch ups, is getting one.
