Remedy has released the first official comparison screenshots between the original and the remastered versions of Alan Wake. These screenshots showcase the improvements that Remedy has made to this upcoming remaster.
As we can see, Alan Wake Remastered features higher-quality 3D models and textures. Moreover, it comes with some additional bushes, as well as slightly improved lighting.
The remastered version looks better than the original version. However, it doesn’t seem to feature any Ray Tracing effects. So yeah, don’t expect any RT Global Illumination, Shadows or Reflections effects like those found in CONTROL.
Alan Wake Remastered releases on October 5th, exclusively via Epic Games Store.

You need to visit your optometrist if you think it’s only PC version at high settings.
Enabling the RTX will hit the FPS and with those minor updates and the EGS hatred…this remaster is DOA.
My bad. I didn’t read the article and had typed my comment based on the rumors from last week. Was still under the impression that they will implement RTX. I totally agree with what you said btw.
It’s coming to the PlayStation for the very first time so they may still sell a few more units of this game to those PlayStation fanboy peasants who could not afford a gaming PC and does not have an Xbox but those screenshots only shows subtle changes and a bit more detailed textures but it’s very minor if they sell it for 10$ then I will buy it not really willing to pay more than that as I have finished this a very long time ago on PC.
Now I can see the improvement, but this is a remaster vs old console comparison. Wish they would do PC vs PC for better comparison.

Maybe because on PC the changes wouldnt be as easy to notice…at least they didnt ruined the overall atmosphere with the improvements.

UUUMMM ill just stick with my xbox360 collectors edition and the free versions we got on epic(and i think steam?) or the 1000000 times its been 1$ on various bundle services.
I loved this game but like most other companies the talent is all gone and replaced with diversity hires. if we get a alan wake 2, i bet half way through you play as some gross black lady who mentions this is all because of government,white privilege or racism or something. DONT BUY GAMES ANYMORE! If you notice it’s original original CONSOLE vs remastered CONSOLE? No mention of original CONSOLE vs original PC vs whatever the remastered’s primary system is lol, grain of salt my bros. Just glancing at the remastered it looks like what the pc has been at for a long time, 1080p that is.

This game isn’t even that great. So many damn trash remasters. How about company’s take time to remaster really good old games like Thief 2, Deus Ex,

The mods are great but not even close to what we could get…

But I think that in 2021, technology has improved enough for a great remake.
As for Thief 2, it’s in my top 5 favorite games, but I’m very worried they would dumb it down like crazy… Maybe we wouldn’t even be able to play custom maps.

Not a big difference from PC original to remaster. Just some better textures and slightly better geometry.
