Age of Empires 4 feature

Age of Empires 4 releases on October 28th

Microsoft has announced that Age of Empires 4 will release on October 28th. In order to celebrate this announcement, the company also released the game’s E3 2021 trailer that you can find below.

Age of Empires 4 will put you at the center of epic historical battles that shaped the world. Featuring both familiar and innovative new ways to expand your empire in vast landscapes with stunning 4K visual fidelity, the game aims to bring an evolved real-time strategy game to a new generation.

Age of Empires 4 will have 4 distinct campaigns with 35 missions that span across 500 years of history from the Dark Ages up to the Renaissance. Additionally, the game won’t have any microtransactions. Unfortunately, though, AOE4 won’t support mods at launch. Instead, Relic plans to add modding support in early 2022.

Lastly, the game will feature online modes. Players will be able to compete, cooperate or spectate with up to 7 of their friends in PVP and PVE multiplayer modes.

Enjoy!

  1. YOU’re the pathetic one if you don’t even know what Joan of Arc accomplished.?
But then again, not your fault, I bet you’re from USA or UK and they don’t even teach history properly in those countries.

      1. I didn’t say she was superior. Another French historical figure in the game is Guillaume le Conquerant. His conquest of England had a colossal impact on the history of England and France.

  2. This will be busy month – all games included on Game Pass on launch day

    October 28 – Age of Empires 4
    November 9 – Forza Horizon 5
    November 15 – Halo Infinite
November 19 – free Top Gun expansion – MS Flight Simulator

  3. Don’t get me wrong i’m pumped for this game age of empires is the first PC game i ever played and brought me over to PC gaming and Sim City and i have to say i stayed up for over 2 days playing it but the graphics in this look kind of like clay? Hard to explain?

    1. Bad cartoonish visuals for people with toaster computers and MOBA/Starcraft enthusiasts.
Don’t expect passion or effort from Microsoft or modern Relic, this is a cynical nostalgia cashgrab using a well known IP and established fanbase to guarentee sales.

As a fan of Age of Empires, Dawn of War, Company of Heroes and RTS games in general, I’d advise you to stay away from this, Age of Empires 3 looks better than this.

Shame idiots will fall for it, guarenteed, out of brand loyalty and nostalgia, regarless of quality.

        1. I already know the gameplay will be trash because modern Relic is making it
About the same as expecting Creative Assembly to dumb down their games every iteration.

          1. World’s Edge is the lead developer, Relic is co-developing/helping them. You would know this, if you were such a “fan” of the genre.

          2. Any article and any announcement state that Relic is the main developer.
Just like CA developed Halo Wars 2

What is this denial over something you can google or check some random forums for?

    2. The graphics look like this, in order for troop readability during combat. It’s the same reason why the troop animations and attack animations are always the same thing. If you are playing an RTS for competitive reasons, you need to have a clear looking game, that is easily readable, where everything performs exactly the way you expect it too.

This is why RTS, MOBAs, RTTs, etc, all tend to not have insanely good graphics if they’re actually something that is truly meant to be played competitively.

The person who replied to you, apparently is such a massive fan, yet doesn’t know who is actually developing the game. The game is being mainly developed by World’s Edge, which is filled with Ex-Westwood developers, with Relic helping them and has been the internal MS team for AOE for ever. They have released quality stuff so far, there’s nothing here to suggest it’s a terrible game, or even some cynical cash grab.

As a fan of RTS games, wait patiently until you actually see more gameplay of it, because this is f*ck all enough to base how the game will actually look or play.

      1. “For troop readibility”
        “Ex Westwood”
You are an idiot eating up marketing buzzwords, the exact same they gave out for Dawn of War 3.
Steel Division, Wargame, Total War and World in Conflict have tons going on and look great, there is no excuse for garbage muddy textures straight out of 7th Gen consoles.

Again, Relic is the main dev and every single article talking about the game lists it as so, some of which I directly linked.
Westwood remnants mostly work at Petroglyph games, including Frank Klepacki.
The only Ex Westwood developer at Worlds Edge is Adam Isgreen and his work with C&C was writing and some of the voices in Tib Dawn/Red Alert.

Actually research what you preach you f*king fanboy f*k.

  4. Hope Relic wont drop the ball as hard as they did with DoW3 this time around

    94% Dow 2 vs Dow3 – 47% on steam…

  5. Microjew is on my blacklist aswell. As are most US-based devs, they all went full commie schizo.

  6. Game is created by Worlds Edge – former Westwood Studios developers responsible for Dune, Command and Conquer and Red Alert games. But you probably are too young and never heard about Westwood Studios. Game is co-developed with Relic, developers of Company of Heroes.

BTW. Game will be in Game Pass foe 1 usd on launch day (just like Forza):

    October 28 – Age of Empires 4
    November 9 – Forza Horizon 5
    November 15 – Halo Infinite
November 19 – free Top Gun expansion – MS Flight Simulator

      1. Latex is too young to remember games like Dune or Red Alert. I’m really happy that MS reunited people from Westwood Studios and give them chance to create RTS game one more time. No other company create those games this days

    1. It’s being mainly developed by Relic and they haven’t made a good game since Dawn of War 2 Chaos Rising since most developers left after THQ went bankrupt and Sega bought them.

      1. This game is co-developed by Relic (Company of Heroes) but main developer is World’s Edge created started by former Westwood Studios developers. This is internal MS studio which was created for Age of Empires games

    2. Do you have any ability to type anything that doesn’t come off like you have schizophrenia or are severely mentally ill, or possibly it’s the worst possible thing, some third world idiot?

        1. I have tried to understand the points, references, or what ever the f*ck he attempts to make. I just don’t understand any of it, but then again, I don’t spend all my time obsessing about some stupid culture war like 90% of this website seems to do.

      1. You say I don’t possess the knowledge, yet you’re sitting here still acting like Relic is the one actually developing the game? They’re not, World’s Edge, which is filled with the Ex-Westwood developers you more than likely nostalgically suck off, are actually developing the game.

I’m not gatekeeping sh*t you moron, you’re the one gatekeeping by not giving this game a chance because it doesn’t live up to your precious old RTS games or completely unrealistic standards.

I don’t care about your culture war.

You communicate the same exact way Latex does. Like a schizophrenic, or a third world idiot that doesn’t know how to actually communicate in english. Which ever it is, I’m not entertaining your bullsh*t. F*ck off back to English 101 and maybe I can actually respond to something you typed because it’s a word salad.

    3. The person you’re replying to is so mother f*cking retarded, that he actually said a few weeks ago, that there wasn’t a handheld system capable of playing modern AAA games despite several of them currently existing and being in the public.

He’s also a third world idiot, that can’t afford modern hardware. Just some anti-sjw fa*ot desperately trying to suppress his desire. Block him and move on.

  7. Joan of Arc is a facinating historical charachter. What she did is nothing short of a miracle but sure, its somehow just ScHizoPhReniA.
