Star Wars fans, here is something for you today. YouTube’s ‘ackehallgren’ has recreated the Rimmer’s Rest from Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II in Unreal Engine 4. Contrary to other fan remakes, though, this project is available for download.
As the title suggests, this fan remake will let you explore the Rimmer’s Rest. It’s a cool and faithful recreation, and we are certain that some Star Wars fans will find it interesting.

Now in case you are wondering, ackehallgren does not currently plan to recreate any other maps/environments. So yeah, don’t expect a full-fledged remake of Dark Forces 2.

I really don’t know who these are supposed to impress anymore. It seems like anyone and their dog can remake a level from any old games in UE4.
I dunno, I’m just……….. not impressed by the ten thousandth fan remake article on here.
The problem is that UE4, and other engines, is free allowing anyone and their dog to create a great looking level or two. It then ends up on Steam for $1, then people complain about all the crap on Steam.
Changes the entire look and feel so looks more like a reimagining than a remaster. Also looks more like a proof of concept than anything which we will be able to play in the future.
I would play this I loved dark forces
