A couple of days ago, Cold Iron Studios revealed a new Aliens co-op third-person survival shooter, Aliens: Fireteam. And today, IGN has shared a video, showcasing 25 minutes of gameplay footage from it.
Aliens: Fireteam is set in the iconic Alien universe, 23 years after the original Alien trilogy. You play as fireteam of hardened marines fighting to contain the Xenomorph threat.
Players will face overwhelming odds against many enemy types, including numerous different Xenomorphs. Additionally, players will be able to ambush and outsmart all of the game’s enemies.
Lastly, Aliens: Fireteam with feature five unique classes, each with their own abilities and perks. It will also offer a wide variety of weapons and mods.

So you stand still with your braindead mates that also decided to buy the game and wait for scripted AI to take their paths before eating you, who also don’t seem to react to your bullets and simply fall dead when the hp reaches 0.
Nice.
This doesn’t really work, the immersion is complete lost in this game going third person.
Animations looks kind of stiff and wonky.
This game doesn’t look particularly bad but it doesn’t seem to do anything new. It’s just a co-op focused third-person shooter with ability cooldowns. Incredibly generic. There doesn’t seem to be any interesting twists or shifts in mood, just the same lighting and same corridors over and over again. If there is anything unique they need to show it because this gameplay is very uninteresting.
Could be a budget title (~£30). They can’t seem to get this part of the franchise right anymore. Even AVP 2010 was good when you compare it to the new games.
no game does anything new these days because they are too afraid of losing sales, games are focus grouped to death to do something that other games have done that have sold well. Thus we get coop mp looter shooters with leveling up ranks.
Looks very generic.
thats an understatement.
Booooring
lol
LMFAO!!! Yeah slap a few 8″ d0ngs on a few of them for diversity HAAAAAAA HA HA
It doesnt look bad but it doesnt look great either, it looks average.
“You mean mediocre?”
You know in the past games like true crime new york city were considered mediocre, for a game to be mediocre it has to be full of bugs and have crappy sound and graphics and animations. Now mediocrity is when you try just enough for the game to be playable and not having something particularly wrong with it but now be great either. Eg the outer soyworlds is mediocrity defined, its not bad its not great its a medicore game you play it get bored and move on, not something that worth bothering in the first place. Well this game looks been there done that but more generic. In the past i was excited for games because they could be anything. Eg in the first avp you had to figure out where to go for yourself because the maps were large and dark, in the second game each campaign was cinematic but different the alien campaign was something new and interesting. The second avp became more scripted and linear and more mediocre and generic. Then you got that rts like game on ps2 and then you got predator concrete jungle, imagine a game like that with modern systems or that canceled aliens rpg. It was kotor with aliens….no wait kotor has aliens, i mean kotor IN aliens universe.
Now however every game is focused grouped to death so its some kinda coop mp looter shooter with classes and this game is no exception, its like gears of war as far as camera and animations and mechanics go and its your typical mp game with leveling system and unlocks. You know the past when we thought of the idea of a aliens game that you got to play with your friends it sounded awesome, because you had to work together to survive, ammo is limited you must stay away from the aliens or they will rip you to shreds and their blood is acid and you had to use your flashlight to make sure they are not hiding in darkness and your motion tracker to spot them. All of that sounded great, well you aint getting that, here is a generic gears of war/left 4 dead clone with leveling up systems, classes and repetitive bullet spongy combat, probably, it looks like the further you get the more bulletspongy the “unique” enemies will get. If one of your teammates dies, dont worry just revive him, if a enemy explodes too close to you dont worry its acid blood will do some damage but then you either regenerate health or use a medkit. Doesnt feel scary, makes the aliens look like a nuisance than a serious threat. Like you are playing doom or something. SPEAKING OF WHICH, how the fck does doom with aliens mods resemble more of what i am talking about and what all alien fans want than an actual AA game? I assume the budget is AA because it sure as heck is not AAA,. So yeah doom mods and avp 2 feel closer to aliens than this genericfest, its l4d, payday, gears of war, strange brigade, etc etc generic coop game with aliens. Like that other game extinction something that is a coop game with dinosaurs. I see alot of people saying its not a fps but dont you get it, if it was a fps people would confuse it with that other coop mp predator game that came out a while ago. This is how samey games are these days and why i cant get excited about them anymore.
Oh and the combat lacks impact, bullets seem to have no impact and guns have no gun light flashes when fired.
Just a small correction for your post, guns have flashes when fired. Also its Alpha some small elements could still change into Beta when the feedback arrives from testers but no so much and after that very small chance.
I wanted an Alien game like GTFO, replace those zombies with Aliens and it would have been golden.
why would you want anything like GTFO it look so generic it hurts.
Because that game has tons of atmosphere, gameplay mechanics that feel claustrophobic and solid guns feel.
Basically world war z, is it made by the same devs?
Nope.
This looks like a hard sell. I skimmed through the video and the animations of the aliens seemed so cut and paste dry and not very fluid. Wonder if there are more variations of levels?… because that entire video lacked variation of just about everything. When you play a game like Left 4 Dead or Warhammer Verbatim 2 the levels got a lot of different scenery/things to look at and change as you progress throughout the level. This was very basic/bland. TBH I wouldn’t even shell out $20 for this… Which is sad because I do love the Alien franchise. The only thing I liked was the lighting of the gun on your character but even then this game should be in first person to start with.
I wil make my ultimate judgement already….WHAT A TERRIBLE GAME!
Brainless TPS with no immersion, and atmosphere, especially talking the Aliens universe!
fingers crossed it will be above average…
everything wrong with the game industry exists in this trash game.
oh another st*pid a** generic game for the happy streamer goy archetype.
Oh I see you upset “Sir Dank” and “Chaz”
Let’s analyze these two idiots for a second. “Dank” is a very stale meme generally used and favored by brainless plebbit users, normies who are late even for stale prebbit memes. He is a confirmed redditor, the worst kind of brainwashed cattle.
“Chaz” thought it would be cool if he borrowed the name of Antifa’s pathetic attempt to establish a gommunist state last year. So he is basically a sofa Antifa who feels physical pain if someone dares to make fun of today’s clown world
