Latest version of RPCS3 improves performance in SSX, Killzone 2 & 3

The team behind the best Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, has released a new video that highlights some of the improvements of its latest version. According to the team, the latest version of RPCS3 improves performance in SSX, Killzone 2 and Killzone 3.

Killzone 2-3 and SSX saw a large performance uplift thanks to kd-11 restructuring RPCS3’s shader cache code. In addition, the performance of the games that had very high texture upload/draw call set-up time was also improved.

Furthermore, Nekotekina also worked with Eladash to allow RPCS3 to compile PPU Modules when launching a game. This will greatly improve the user experience when running Metal Gear Solid 4 or Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 for the first time.

You can download the latest version of RPCS3 from its official website.

Enjoy!

    1. pretty sure sony was into movie-games back even with the ps1.
contracting Square Soft/Enix with loading their games with hours of FMVs. in order to take advantage of playstation’s built-in media playback.

    2. Used to? the “movie-game” trend from Sony started with PS3…i would argue with PS1 and Metal Gear Solid. Thanks Kojima.

  1. killzone 3 is the most impressive game of that gen and the most impressive game on ps3, still holds up. I thought the reason no one emulated killzone 2 was due to the motion controls not being emulatable,i guess i am wrong about that?

    1. stop capping are you telling me that it was better than these games that came out the same year?

      The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
      Battlefield 3
      Gears of War 3
      Dead Space 2
The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

    1. Play the X360 version it’s fully playable on Xenia, since X360 version is better the emulation is also better.

  2. uuf FOV55 on those fps games.
And btw for Killzone 2 and 3 you need DualShock 3 or 4, game is using motion controls even for things like rotating a valve etc.
