Company of Heroes 2 receives a 64-bit patch, improving performance & stability

Now here is a pleasant surprise. Relic has just released a new patch for Company of Heroes 2 that adds support for 64-bit operating systems. As such, this classic strategy game will now have better performance and stability on most modern-day PC systems.

Furthermore, this update will enable crossplay between the Steam and the Windows Store versions of COH2. As Relic stated:

“This update is great news for the game, as it should result in greater stability and overall performance for the vast majority of players. It should also enable crossplay between Steam and Microsoft Game Pass / Windows Store Users.”

Lastly, this update brings ten new maps and five reworked maps. However, this latest patch will also remove some old maps. You can find more details about the MP maps here.

  1. It could really do with some updated textures. Game is still good though the soviet campaign isn’t as good as COH1 and for some reason the game only detects ultrawide resolutions at 60fps or less, not above.

    1. Try borderless windowed mode, or use to SpecialK to force a specific refresh rate, the Nvidia control panel also has an option to force maximum refresh rate on any app (you maybe have to disable windows 10 fullscreen optimization for this to work)

      1. Thats what I already do (nvidia control panel to limit refresh rate to 60 on a custom ultrawide resolution).

  2. Great CoH2 is awesome, shame relic seriously dropped the ball with DoW3 and that sadly makes me doubt AoE4 if they keep the same structure from DoW3. Hope i’m seriously wrong as a new good AoE would be very welcome in my game library
