Steam’s database hints at Source 2 Engine receiving support for real-time ray tracing. From the looks of it, the first game that will receive support for RTX will be Artifact.
Do note that this does not mean, at least for now, that Half-Life: Alyx will also receive support for Ray Tracing or DLSS. Valve has not announced such plans yet. However, and once Artifact supports these tech features, the Source 2 Engine will be compatible with them.
It will be interesting to see when NVIDIA and Valve will officially reveal these RTX effects for Artifact. It will also be interesting to see whether Half-Life: Alyx – or any newer Source 2 Engine game – will add support for them.
It’s also interesting to note that NVIDIA plans to remaster classic PC games with its RTX technology. Quake 2 RTX was the first one. Therefore, and if this RTX support is anything to go by, we could be looking at Half-Life RTX using the Source 2 Engine. Again, we are merely speculating here, but such a scenario could be possible.
Stay tuned for more!

Maybe by the time I actually get an RTX capable card it will be worth the hype.
Unreal Tournament RTX ?
Wrong hole
You mean Unreal Tournament as in the series that originally started as a tech demo for the Unreal Engine?
Ray Tracing on a Card game? LOOOOL https://media2.giphy.com/media/LScdfplGpAmpf5QVVN/giphy.gif
lol Artifact, more like Artif#cked
Valve Source Engine 2 is a DX11 engine… no support for DX12 so it can’t support RTX (DXR) or DLSS (DirectML)
“Source 2 features:
– Native OpenGL support on all platforms
– Native DirectX 11® support”
No, Source2 uses Vulkan too, and Vulkan has raytracing support.
If Half-Life: Alyx gets Ray Tracing support I’m going play it again for the fourth time!
the puzzles in game drive me absolutley insane . i stopped playing it i hate those stupid door puzzles. less puzzle and more action would be better
You can always play CoD
Excellent!
