Star Citizen Alpha 3.3-2

Star Citizen Alpha 3.12: Assault on Stanton will bring support for Tobii Head & Eye Tracking

Cloud Imperium Games today announced it has signed an exclusive partnership with Tobii to bring the next generation of eye tracking and head tracking technology to Star Citizen. The upcoming Star Citizen – Alpha 3.12: Assault on Stanton update will introduce official support for the Tobii technology for the first-time. As such, the game will deliver a more immersive way to explore and experience the universe of Star Citizen.

Cloud Imperium Games CEO and Star Citizen creative director Chris Roberts, said:

โ€œFlying and ship-to-ship combat is a critical part of the Star Citizen experience. Thus Tobii eye-tracking hardware will make that experience much more immersive. We look forward to working with our partners at Tobii to expand eye-tracking features and functionality over time.โ€

Players will be able to take flying and dogfighting in Star Citizen to the next level with the advanced precision and speed of Tobii eye tracking hardware. Furthermore, they will enjoy a more intuitive flight experience as they soar through space. To take advantage of eye-tracking support, players must have the appropriate Tobii hardware, such as the Tobii Eye Tracker 5.

Anand Srivatsa, Division CEO of Tobii Tech, also added:

โ€œWe are thrilled to add Star Citizen to our growing library of titles that support our eye tracking technology. Whether you are aiming to improve reaction times and precision or looking for a more immersive and comfortable way to explore and enjoy gaming, Tobii offers a new way to experience your favorite games.โ€

Star Citizen combines classic space sim gameplay with boundary-pushing visuals in a massively multiplayer setting with unprecedented fidelity. Cloud Imperium promises to allow players live how they want to live. Thus, they can shift paths from cargo hauler to outlaw, explorer, or any other role, whenever they want. Players can also explore multiple planets and moons, including vast cities and underground caverns.

  1. Better add VR, DLSS and why not RT ? Tobi Eye tracking is so 2014, it tells how much the development of this game is a mess, a lot of stupid decisions

    1. Sure. Let’s focus on VR because it is a priority before core tech and gameplay.
VR as always been on the table and will be available after game is released.

Damned, such stupid manager making a game 1 million individual join and support during Alpha. They should have first ask you how to make two Triple-A from scratch… or not ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. In a year they went from alpha 3.4 to alpha 3.12……
    What a progress….
Can wait what will they have next year… Alpha 3.20?

        1. We know: Your grand kid will fly real space ship and will terraform Mars before SC…
They keep adding new features, including some not even on roadmap like engine jet vent having impact on environment… better not get behind a 890 Jump taking off ๐Ÿ™‚
Pull & Push first iteration, premise of SRV toying ship, turrets refactored to shoot down incoming torpedos.
The project is keep growing with the two last core tech (Icache + Server meshing) implemented by end of Q2.

In the meantime backers do play also others games and new backers are joining every day.
A true tragedy for naysayers ๐Ÿ™‚

          1. Ahhh the roadmap!
Guess they’ll delay this as well.
Dude, you don’t have a gag reflex, do you?

          2. The new roadmap based on CIG internal Jira process tool will be available this month.
What matter are quarterly patch and to make progress.

          3. It is call developing the game Backers do asked for. All features delivered or under development have been part of either kickstarter approved by backers Stretch Goals or part of SQ42 and SC scope.
