New Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition Cinematics Comparison Video

Nightdive Studios has released a new video for Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition. This video compares some of the original cinematic sequences with the new enhanced ones, giving players an idea of some of their improvements.

Nightdive Studios has used AI techniques in order to improve the quality of the cinematics. Furthermore, the team used interpolation effects in order to improve their framerates. However, some cinematics appear to be running with 30fps, whereas others are running with 60fps. This inconsistent framerate is awful, and we believe that the team should either lock the framerate to 30fps or 60fps.

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition promises to be a polished and premium restoration. The game will feature updated character models, animations and cutscenes. It will also support widescreen resolutions, keyboard and controller customization and more.

The game targets a 2020 release on the PC.

Enjoy!

  1. I love the 90s stuttering 15/30 fps stop motion-like FMVs, they’re disturbing and satisfying at the same time, just like a Tool video, i hope we can keep the original videos, not spitting on their work it’s just a personal preference

    1. So, I can tell You never played the game? All of the game’s backgrounds are animated ala latest Resident Evil 1 Remake for PC/PS4/X1, and the characters are made of voxels (basicaly pixels in 3D, google it). So, cutscenes=gameplay- characters.

      1. yes which is why i ask you how does showing the cutscenes and not the gameplay where the characters are made with voxels make any sense?

  2. Looks cool, but the pixelation of the original gives the graphics some charm and hides imperfections. The enhanced graphics look way to clean and plasticky.
