Crysis Remastered releases on September 18th, will be exclusive to Epic Games Store

Earlier this week, Playstation Access claimed that Crysis Remastered would be released today. However, that’s not the case. Instead, Crytek released today a new tech trailer for it and announced its official release date.

Furthermore, Crytek announced that the game will release exclusively on Epic Games Store. Funnily enough, I wrote an April’s Fools joke article last year, claiming that Crysis 4 would be an Epic Games Store exclusive. And… in case you’re wondering… no; I did not have any inside info and I am certainly not a prophet.

This new tech trailer showcases some of the graphical improvements that Crysis Remastered will feature. PC gamers can expect high-quality textures up to 8K resolution, Global Illumination (SVOGI), new light settings, motion blur and ray tracing. The PC version will additionally support NVIDIA DLSS technology and hardware-based ray tracing using NVIDIA’s VKRay Vulkan extension, for NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPU.

As we can clearly see in this tech trailer, the game looks significantly better than its vanilla version. So yeah, this does look better than the initial current-gen screenshots that Crytek released in June 2020. Still, it will be interesting to see whether this version is indeed based on the PS3/X360 version.

      1. That is not how piracy works. Ultra hardcore pirates which is MOST pirates doesn’t have FOMO. And for the most part they would not buy a game they don’t own. Hence why they have all the time in the world to wait for crack. FOMO fools are why the industry is in ruins cause they have no patience. They buy a game at day one and we all know day one game is worth 20 dollars not 60 dollars. because Day One is riddled with bugs and all sorts of garbage. You are very mistaken as to how pirates operate.

        1. while i do agree that games are not worth a high price day one.
          piracy is heavily dependent on freely invested time and what is possible. eventually as we seen crackers will not be able to crack expensive DRM as simply based on freely invested time.

          in any case not waiting on any game to be cracked is your best bet.
          and to be fine with not every title to be playable with whatever time you have left on earth. if you have this type of patience then you probably have beaten many DRM sources and other pirates.

I have extra money to spend so i buy my games because it offers me entertainment. The people who just want to crack it would only being do so because they don’t have disposable income to risk on the game or buy the game at all.

          So because we buy the games we’re looking forward to playing we’re fools? Makes complete sense , people spew hot garbage constantly. Where did the world get some dumb, i’d love to know. If you don’t have money to support your hobbies then that’s unfortunate and i feel for you, but you should be trying to fix that rather than trying to convince someone to try and believe in this idiotic ideology you just spewed.

          2. Devil May Cry 4 and Bioshock have the “Game for windows” logo on the top of the box, but neither are game for windows live.
            The logo “live” has to be on the box, like The Club, Gears of War and Bioshock 2.

    2. Not relevant at all. The one true and only Crysis – the one that’s been out for 11 years – already looks better and is known to run fine.

      There is no “PC version.” PC is the only version. This remaster is utter trash based on the 360 port. Thanks, but lmao – no thanks. Crysis with mods looked better than this 10 years ago.

    1. Gigantic AAA companies should not legally be allowed to make these kinds of publishing deals with other giant AAA companies. IDGAF if THQ Nordic isn’t “giant”, they are. They own at least 4 developers right now, rather popular one, as well as popular IPs including Metro, Insurgency, and more.

You know how many games i’ve gifted to family members or friends, dozens maybe hundreds at this point. My point being. If you’re not interested in the game don’t buy it and if you can’t none of my business , but don’t pirate it because you feel like you’re being some kind of hero, you’re not.       1. Crysis Remastered is based on the inferior 360 port that should never have existed. Crytek quite literally said “Crysis will never run on consoles.” and they weren’t wrong – all 3 console versions look and run horribly.

        You could buy this trash version with gimmicky marketing terms aimed at people who’ve literally never spent 1 minute working in 3D like “Ray tracing”, on a trash store, with horrible redone graphics based on the inferior 360 version, or…

        You could buy the real game, download Blackfires mod, run ReShade and use your own ray-tracing, and it will look and run better. For the 5 minutes before you realize Crysis is a tech demo and not a game.

  17. Just look at the comparison of the rocks in the beach, the original still have the small ones while in the Remaster they are replace with big ones. Why they reduce geometry and use less assets? because is the port of a console.

    And they have the balls to compare it with the original…disgusting.
    Besides the lighting and fancy new effects we got after decades, this is a disgrace…pirate day one for me, install, complain about how bad it looks and reinstall the original, mod it to the 10th degree as a cleanse palate.

  32. It makes sense actually. They got some money out of Epic. This wouldn’t have sold well on Steam anyways. How do you sell this game to PC crowd really? It wasn’t that great of a shooter. It was made as an advertisement for their engine. No matter how good it will look now it will still look like sh*t in comparison to current AAA titles.
