Slightly Mad Studios officially announces Project CARS 3, releases first in-engine trailer

Slightly Mad Studios has just announced the next part in its Project CARS series, Project CARS 3. In order to celebrate this announcement, the team has also released the first in-engine trailer that you can find below.

In Project CARS 3, players can own, upgrade and customize hundreds of elite-brand road- and race-cars. Players can also personalize their racing hero, then race their way up from weekend warrior to racing legend in stunning global locations.

Surprisingly enough, Project CARS 3 will release this Summer. This really caught us off guard, as we weren’t expecting a new Project CARS game so soon.

Bandai Namco has not revealed any additional details. There isn’t currently any Steam page for the game, and we don’t know the PC system requirements for this new racing game. My guess is that the publisher will reveal more details later today (or this week).

Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!

  1. Is this the new Fast and Furious game that I’ve been hearing about? What happen to trying to be a sim?

  2. Looks like Grid…Doesn’t look spectacular in any way shape or form. I’ll wait for the reviews.

    1. “Meh big publishers don’t do anything new just churn out the same games over and over again”

Then some studio wants to push their way into the market to provide some VLAUABLE competition and maybe make the big boys push the boundaries a little more.

“Nah just wait for the next game from the big bad publisher this one will be trash”.

      Just zero common sense.

    2. I have the first one and it’s a blast to play with a Logitech G29!! And I find it well optimized! It just miss a “garage” management…

    3. Forza, really? I’m just wondering if you kept a straight face when typing that? Hell when thinking that…

        1. Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione, rFactor 2, Raceroom. Now what do you like. Oh let me guess Forza. Forza cars drive like carnival floats.

          1. None of them really. I used to like the old Grid series and CM Rally games but nowadays I don’t really enjoy racing games.

          2. It’s the first genre which I respect, well that an and flight sims. Well you did ask, and you were on the article so you still have some interest. I couldn’t care less about CS:GO, PUBG, or Fortnite. Therefore, you will never catch me on any of those types of articles, and yet you were here, but you don’t enjoy racing titles…

          3. I wasn’t asking. Of course I still have interest I’m waiting for something good again.

          4. Okay, then you pondered the question and directed it towards me…

Waiting for something good again – okay bye bye.

          5. I know, I’m such a philistine right. Everyone on this site thinks himself the intellectual. I noticed that pretty quickly. I find it oddly entertaining myself.

          6. No I was just having a bit of fun but you seem determined to take offence at something, typical millennial.

          7. No, there was no offense at all, and if I offended you in anyway then I apologize, oh and I am no millennial, unless 49 is the new millennial age.

    4. I can’t even imagine what Forza 8 and Horizon 5 will look like on current PC tech and DX API plus on the next Gen XBSX. Going to be insane cause even today both Forza 7 and Horizon 4 still looks crazy good and are to Me still the best racers you can get(Arcade style not full Sim).

Yeah I never got into Proj Car series but it’s cool they are still trying, having said that I am not going to hold My breath.

    5. I think Forza Motorsport 8 will be on Steam. Since Valve added support of Xbox Live on Steam with Halo Reach every single MS game is released on both Steam and Windows Store

    6. lol. Forza is fun, but Project Cars is exciting. Project Cars tires you out on how much it requires and is a much better experience, even if Forza is the better game. One game is much more demanding than the other.

Forza is casual as hell so have fun I guess.

      1. Yeah, I really should try this one Project Cars 3 could easily be the next Need For Speed Shift we all wanted but are never got.

The trailer looks good, so I will give it a go when it comes out even if I prefer the Arcade racers. Really Forza 7 is pretty close to Shift anyways so I am sure 8 will be insane. With Dirt 5, Project Cars 3, Forza 8 and Horizon 5 us racers are in for a heck of a season! You really can’t loose.

        1. I appreciate your enthusiasm but cannot understand what evidence you’ve come across that gives you hope of this being the NFS Shift we never got.

    1. Thanks for posting. Seems that SMS have taken the series in a more arcade-oriented direction under Codemasters.

  3. Am I crazy to say EA did a better job publishing Slightly Mad Studios than the company going on its own? The need for speed shift series was fantastic and it seems like they went down hill after they left.

  4. Before it was only somewhat arcadey…now its straight up arcade racer! What a downfall from PC1!

  6. The series is famous for its weather effects so why does this entire video take place on dry tracks? Not even puddles, no water whatsoever. Also the super-opaque dust particle effects when drifting look comically out of place, like a cartoon effect fitting a Sega arcade racer. It seems like they maxed out the consoles in very static, boring scenes and they had to downgrade particles and all weather effects to achieve it.

  7. It’s a console focused game now, so goodbye sim. It is now meant to be played with controllers, for what I saw.
Will be just another GRID or Forza game, sadly.
    RIP
The good thing is, PC2 is now very cheap on Steam.
