2K Games will reveal more details about the Mafia Trilogy today. However, and prior to the official reveal, the trailer for Mafia 3 Definitive Edition has been leaked online.
From what we can see, this Definitive Edition of Mafia III looks visually the same with the original version. However, and according to PSN, the version will feature all DLCs for free. As such, players will be able to download them for free.
To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much. After all, this is a current-gen game. Still, I was hoping for some performance optimizations (as Mafia 3 was not running that well on older PC configurations). Perhaps we might get some Quality of Life improvements, however, don’t expect any ground-breaking changes/improvements.
So, from what we know so far, the first Mafia game will be a remake in the Mafia 3 Engine. On the other hand, Mafia 2: Definitive Edition will be a simple remaster. My guess is that the Definitive Edition won’t have the PC-exclusive PhysX effects. Lastly, Mafia 3: Definitive Edition is basically a “Complete Edition”.

This exists so they can resell on new consoles.
Is not like they can improve it too much after only 3 years (this has to run on a console after all), they will just pack all the DLC’s in one game and call it Remaster.
That version already exists. That’s why I’m left asking, what’s the point?

Those weren’t remasters, those are remakes. I don’t know why they even called them remasters.

The best thing about Mafia 3 was that of 2K Games firing numerous members of Hangar 13 following the game’s SJW pandering having predictably resulted in poor sales.

The one thing that bothered me in Mafia 3 was that when people hid behind things the hitbox for the item was too big. You could see the person but you couldn’t shoot him.

Except for the fact that Klkestar/Klke-Two arealdy did that with GTA IV were they removed both GTA IV and EFLC in favor of their shltty so called “Complete Edition” with removed features.
