Crytek has issued a press release for Crysis Remastered, revealing that it will release in Summer 2020. In addition, the team has unveiled some new tech details about it, as well as some of its new visual enhancements.
As the press release reads, Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaign. It will feature high-quality textures and improved art assets, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO, SVOGI, and state-of-the-art depth of field. Moreover, it will pack new light settings, motion blur, and parallax occlusion mapping, as well as new particle effects.
Further additions such as volumetric fog and shafts of light, software-based ray tracing, and screen space reflections will also provide the game with a major visual upgrade.
Unfortunately, Crytek has not revealed for what its software-based ray tracing tech will be used. My guess is that the team will use it for the game’s reflections.
Crytek CEO Avni Yerli said:
“We are excited to be working on the Crysis franchise again, and to bring all the Crysis fans a remaster worthy of their passion for the game. It’s an exciting opportunity to be able to bring Crysis back to PCs and current consoles – even Nintendo Switch! – so that a whole new generation of players can experience the thrill of a battle in the Nanosuit.”
Stay tuned for more!

I dont buy it, i feel like Crytek is gonna make the PC version not that good just a bit better than the PS4 Pro and X1X versions to give parity with consoles, i dont know why are they even releasing the game in consoles, what a bunch of scumbags, console players dont even give a F about this Fkn franchise , they should’ve at least make the game PS5 and XSX NOT 8TH GEN.
Indeed, people don’t forget what they did with Crysis 2 and 3.
Crysis 2 is fine.
How about we wait and actually judge the game once it is released, or at least shown?
No that’s crazy talk! We have to jump to conclusions and sh*t all over games before they even launch!
Party pooper
But that’s not fun…
You are comparing the pandemic with videogames? somebody is taking this entertainment too seriously…
Agreed, f ucktards like $ony faqqots don’t care about this series, they just like shiit like that SJW-cringefest called The Last of Us which they like to call “legend of the legends” LMAO a$$holes.
I own quite a few Sony things, and i always liked Crysis.
Maybe you should quit your fanboy crusade.
That’s because you’re not a $ony fanatic, $ony fanatics are the WORST! We need someone like Hitler to exterminate those subhuman pieces of shiit.
And you think you’re not a fanatic?
I think you need a reality check dude.
What’s with all your hate?
The switch is a pretty cool system.
Do you really think they are not targetting 8th gen? What the hell is that atittude? Another one of your profiles?
I’m not ready to write off its quality just yet, but I agree 100% that it should have been next gen only if consoles had to be included.
crysis 2 and 3 were made with crysis 1 money.
Nah, all three were made with EA money. In the traditional publisher – developer deals the publisher pays for everything as long as the developer hits certain milestones in time.
Xbone is powerful enough to run Crysis at a typical console framerate like 30 fps or even 60 fps. If they keep the gameplay intact and don’t add more advanced physics features like terrain destruction or massively increasing the number of active NPCs there’s actually no reason these consoles would hold the PC version back.
The only thing you have to worry about is the gameplay. The console port for Xbox 360 and PS3 changed the way the nanosuit worked to be closer to the sequels. Most likely this was done for performance reasons so MOST LIKELY they won’t do it again. But we have to stay cautious about this and pay close attention once they release gameplay videos.
You’re missing the point terribly pimpim.
1) The X1X is powerful enough to what??? A Crysis 1 relaunch should be a Remake, not a remaster, with full Ray Tracing lighting better than Metro and full ray traced shadows and reflections, all in high poly counts and amazing assets, i dont fkn want 2007 assets retouched, THIS SOM BULLLLSSSHHH
2) If they keep everything the same what’s the fkn point on releasing this???
3) The console version of Crysis 1 was an 4$$pull you know this right??? Crytek never thought of a console version when they were making Crysis 1, they figured out a way afterwards in which they ended up downgraded graphics to lower than lowest pc settings, cutting entire levels and changing gameplay as you mentioned, trash, not the real Crysis 1, Crysis 1 doesn’t really exist for consoles just like Spider-Man 2 doesn’t exist for PC.
4) This is dead on arrival, Console gamers don’t even care enough about this nonsense to clown it (which they would if they ever saw it) and it’s gonna launch between Cyberpunk 2077 and Last of Us 2 , they’re trying to appeal to a public that fkn hates them WHY?!??!?! why wouldn’t they just know their actual public and put in that work for them as best as they can.
I will not give a single cent to these clowns.
>with full Ray Tracing lighting better than Metro and full ray traced shadows and reflections
And how would that happen when Crytek doesn’t want to adopt DX12 DXR or Vulkan Ray?
Their custom ray tracing solution is pretty garbage, doesn’t support hardware acceleration, and only does reflections.
Then they suck it up and implement DXR and take full advantage of RTX 3000 and RX 6000.
They still don’t fully support DX12, much less DXR.
That’s not going to appear when the Remaster comes out, and they will not bother back porting it for it later on.
i can say why it releases on all platforms because CRYTEK needs money and a company has to survive ur sh*t PCMASTERRACE dispute is bulls**t they will port the game later for the new generation consoles they will use the better looking PC version of the game every company does that and CRYTEK was nearly bankrupt so the way they are going now is acceptable.
And if the game requires systems which are more demanding than most games out there, people will complain that the game is “poorly optimized” or is “biased towards nvidia” or whatever, so making it too next gen is a terrible idea and a commercial suicide
It worked for them with Crysis 1, but this is not gonna be any close to that…for starters…it will run on a Swtich…
Games can run on many systems and utilize them all fully.
For example Minecraft – runs on your phone, but the RTX version will fully load your RTX 2080Ti.
Nope they wouldn’t, if the graphics justified the specs the Crysis fans would comply as we did in the past.
This is trash yall out your god damn mind.
When they launched hunt showdown the graphics was better especially the particle effect but it was poorly optimized back then now it run better but graphics does not look as it was before
They didn’t destroy Hunt Showdown because of consoles lol.
Graphics were downgraded like 2 years ago, game ran like garbage even on high end systems.
Of course instead of actually optimizing, they made it look worse for some extra frames.
You seem to have a nice collection of terrible opinions
The only thing in this remake that gives me curiosity is the software-base raytracing, i wonder how much of a FPS killer would be.
software? oh great more load on the CPU whereas the GPU is just sitting there idle
“software” is misleading. it’s using compute on the GPU. it just doesn’t use the special hardware in RTX or future RDNA2 cards.
That makes more sense, still, i’m interested in watching their take on this since visual fidelity is their strong suit.
Hope they bundle the sandbox editor with the PC version.
The original crysis had a very long lifespan thanks to the modding community.
honestly man it was a disappointment the community didnt make alot of stuff.
I think you’re mistaking it for crysis 2 modding tools.
The original crysis had hundreds of custom levels and other mods created with a community that was active for years after its release.
Crysis 2 modding on the other hand was the disappointment, as the sandbox editor was released very late after the game’s release, was very buggy, and the engine at the time wasn’t optimized for large open levels with lots of vegetation like the first game.
Where are all those hundreds you speak off?
He’s right dude, check Moddb, there are some great TCs like Mechwarrior Living Legend and StarCry, but also overhauls for the game, tons of custom maps for both SP and MP, skins, and some graphic mods, it’s not Doom or HL level, but it’s quite extensive
i have which is why i am asking you where did you get those hundrends?
The original Crysis mods forums are long gone.
sooo where do i get em?
Who knows. Google it.
A cursory search of just moddb shows over 200 mods for the first Crysis game.
https://www.moddb.com/games/crysis/mods
I hope he pays his staff this time.
“As the press release reads, Crysis Remastered will focus on the original game’s single-player campaign. ”
no editor?
This is awesome news 🙂
I feel disappointed really. Crysis doesn’t need to have a remake.
The awful multithreading of the game alone makes this remaster/remake mandatory, the OG Crysis is somehow condemned to run like crap at Ultra no matter the hardware you use
Yup. Even with 9900k and 2080Ti you will still get dips under 60 fps during more intensive fights.
It absolutely does. This is fantastic news.
They should make the it moddable via a free CRYENGINE download. Would be a great way to introduce people back to CE modding on the latest version of it as well as bring people back to CE.
I keep throwing my money but i still don’t have it on my steam account yet?
Raytracing, PS4, Switch ! something wrong with these words in the same phrasing
I remember buying (2) 8800 GTS video cards for SLI to play Crysis back in 2007. Damn, such a fun game just to get decent graphics on. Graphics were super intense on that game. Reason I had (2) 8800 GTS’s is because Vanguard-Saga of Heroes was a bug ridden piece of crap MMO that I adored, lol.

I played it on the lowest graphical setting my gpu was gt 9500 and i remember to last boss fight was super lagy my fps was 10 or 15 max i think XD

Good news guys!!! …Come on be more happy. This game is legendary!!!
Why not TimeSplitters series? They are in real need of that
Inb4, someone will make a mod that replaces Nomad with 2B and add thrid person camera.
Dude, nice
Christ, so Crysis is gonna be *even harder* for my PC to run ? 😀
As long as the PC version doesn’t get held back due to parity reasons then it’s all good. But a new Crysis game would be a lot more interesting for me.
Digital foundry’s video comparing the 1700 to the 7700K was interesting in crysis 3 overall the I7 had the high frame rate but it dropped the most as well. Meaning more cores in this engine mattered. Funny crysis was a pain to get high performance over GPU’s mainly now its the darn CPU haha. 9900K 5.3Ghz drops below 60fps even.
We live in the modern world now games finally use more then 4 cores all of them in fact easily use 6. People love to make fun of the switch but i guarantee the Arm CPU in their has higher IPC compared to jaguar which in itself had higher IPC then bulldozer i think?
Raytracing, Why are they releasing this on Xbone and Ps4 and not new Xbox and Ps5?
crysis needs to evolve into a 3rd person stealth, action tactical shooter. they always show off the suit screenshots yet the game is in 1st person.
