Assassin’s Creed 2 will be free to own on UPLAY on April 14th

It appears that Ubisoft will be offering the second part in its Assassin’s Creed series for free next week. According to Mydealz and industry insider ZhugeEX, Ubisoft will be giving away Assassin’s Creed 2 on UPLAY on April 14th.

This will be a free to own offer, meaning that you will be able to keep this game in your library forever. What’s also interesting is that next week, Epic Games will be offering Just Cause 4 on EGS for free. Thus, PC gamers will be able to acquire for free two great games.

Assassin’s Creed II invites players to incarnate Ezio; a privileged young noble in Renaissance Italy who’s been betrayed by the rival ruling families of Italy. Ezio’s subsequent quest for vengeance plunges players into a captivating and epic story. The game aims to offer a variety in missions, surprising and engaging new gameplay elements, and diverse weapons. It also has a profound character progression that will appeal to fans of the original Assassin’s Creed as well as entice players new to the brand.

  1. This was the best Assassins Creed game for years all the way until origins came out. It’s awesome but i can’t see myself replaying it. But will be nice to add to the collection just incase quarantine turns into a 2 year deal. then i’ll play it when i run out of games

      1. This franchise died with Desmond and Ezio. Nuff said. My favorite would be Brotherhood, only because it’s basically an improved version of AC 2. But overall, the Ezio trilogy is the best. What about you, mate?

        1. Lol, the same as you.
          My ranking:
          Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood
          Assassin’s Creed: Revelations
          Assassin’s Creed II
          Assassin’s Creed
Assassin’s Creed III (I don’t like this game)

        1. I enjoyed all the previous titles, and to be honest i didn’t enjoy the 3rd at all, but i like the modern part when you play as Desmond. I think the game is rushed and not polished as the 1st ones. But hey… this is just my opinion.

        2. I loved AC # because it was the first time i started out as a kid in a video game. So much connection with that game. Anything after AC3 is just HOT GARBAGE. It pisses me off so much when people talk about AC: 4 because that was a blasted pirate game. It was not an AC game.

    1. I liked unity…once it was patched up of course…but the movement was ..well…seemed good to me. and there were things and people everwhere…what dija think of that one? I thought ac3 sucked bags and bags of d*ck. brotherhood was good I remember they nailed the combat in that one ..

    1. first one blew everyone’s mind and it was a unique game when it came out. all of them get boring fast though including the first one.

      1. I still remember walking around just looking at the ammount of NPCS doing their own thing…it was amazing for 2007.

    1. They gave it free a year ago. SO maybe that’s why.

They should give India and Russia for complete collection.

      1. Digital stores are known to give away the same games for free on more than one occasion. Anyway, my comment was made in humour as indicated by the choice of emoticon so obviously wasn’t intended to be taken so literally.

  2. Since this gen flooded with remaster,i want Ubisoft remaster/remake the first Assassin Creed using AnvilNext engine and gameplay improved like Black Flag…

    1. But they dumbed down even more the gameplay since AC3…you have more fluid and pretty animations at the price of just holding a single key and letting the game play itself…

  3. In AC 1&2 you need 3 buttons to run/parkour. In Origins/Odyssey only 1. Additionally in Odyssey there’s autorun option so you just hover your mouse for camera. Fixed alright.

  4. Origins and Odyssey are Tom Clancy Wildlands (or Far Cry in third person) without guns. The famous Ubisoft formula to its peak.
They are more close to poor copies of Witcher 3 than anything else, from AC games they only have the hood and the historical (with questionable accuracy, like most AC games) setting. I still like both, as games..not much as AC games.

I would argue that the first AC is a good core, a pretty good prototype that improve in great leaps from 2…and start to get tiresome in 3…(4 is great, but is just building upon the good parts of 3). Unity and Syndicate tried to go back to the routes of the first 4 games…and more or less succeed.

  5. The most challenging AC gave ever made. I found all the feathers in this game without using a guide. Lol

I don’t usually mind many AC games, but Assassin’s Creed 2 is still the best in the series IMO followed by Brotherhood.

  6. They really should offer the deluxe version at this point in time, given you are not able to upgrade to deluxe later

  7. Very good games. Then the AC III happened. Black Flag was also amazing but after that the series aren’t worth to play anymore. Stupid lvl exp grinds and map zones are lvl based

  8. That’s great news. I had this on my wishlist for a while despite completing it all those years ago on the Xbox 360. Will be pretty cool to revisit the game but in 4K60FPS if the game allows it. I hold this game quite near and dear to me since it was the first title that really got me into orchestral music and wanting to pursue it as a career. Love the franchise so much that I went to their symphony orchestra last year. Man, what a nostalgia trip 🙂

But yeah such a shame what has happened to the series now and the company behind it. And the industry as a whole really. Things are just way too woke now it kinda takes away the fun in things. Less focus on being creative and more time on fulfilling the status quo.
