Doom Eternal has just been released and speedrunners can already finish the game in less than an hour. Yeap, there are already speedruns for this latest Doom game. Therefore, you can find below find a video from speedrunner ‘Distortion2’ who finished the game in 58 minutes.
As you can see, the speedrunner has used a lot of exploits and out of bounds tricks in order to complete the game in less than an hour. Moreover, he played the game on Easy difficulty. Not that this isn’t an incredible achievement, but it will be interesting to see some speedruns on Ultra Nightmare.
It will also be interesting to see whether id Software will fix the exploits showcased in this video. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this huge amount of out of bounds tricks for such a modern-day title.
But anyway, go ahead and enjoy the following video. Stay also tuned for our upcoming PC review!

i dont like speedruns that use wall hacks
“oh its not a hack”
you know what i mean dude.
Yeah that’s not a true speedrun.
not only is it not a hack, it wouldn’t even be a “wall hack” if it were a hack. wall hacking is seeing through walls, not jumping really high.
yawnnn
Means nothing
The only Speedrun I am interested in 100% Ultra Nightmare.
Eh, that could also be said about gaming in general…
Exactly! If majority of gamers (myself included) were happy with their real lives they sure wouldn’t use gaming as a form of escape from reality.
I agree. Since I found a nice job and earned enough money to buy a nice car and now saving for a nice house, I almost never play anymore. Just some indie games because they’re very short and don’t take too much of my time. (damn, it sounds like one of these scam posts… lol)
Games are totally a way to escape from reality when we’re poor, that’s all. As soon as you get a bit richer, you realize how much you’ve been missing out. It’s sad that most youngsters in particular don’t realize this. But they will, in time.
The older you get the more you notice gaminess on today’s games plots. The scene in the movie “Upgrade” where the protagonist comes to some rundown VR place and sees people basically living in virtual because the real world life (with ever widening inequality and no prospects for the future) just sucks really spoke to me.
There seems to be a widely spread misunderstanding about speedruns. It’s just a form of competition, and it doesn’t necessarily mean that the speedrunner didn’t already enjoy the game at its natural pace.
Think of it as a sort of Game+ mode.
Speedrunning? This game is better known for Bethesda’s speedcracking!
Buy game, finish it 2x and you still have time left to refund! Iz good deal!
They’re slow… I did it in less than 40 min.
The game is so boring you need medicine to be convinced to play.
Imo, this game aims to old people who are lock in time and don’t know how to play games anymore.
“Rejoice, my old fellas, the only thing you need to know is jump and shoot”
Looks like Quake III Arena.
This thing is a weird mix of Quake + Doom + Prince of Persia Sands of Time + NuTomb Raider + Overwatch.
Haven’t played Overwatch, but I like the others.
DOOM (2016) feels right. This one? Not so much.
To each his own.
…oh Distortion? He’s a spaz so I prefer not to watch his videos.
2016 was mutch better
