This Ghostbusters Mod lets you play as Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler in Resident Evil 2 Remake

George Chief has released a pretty cool mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake. This Ghostbusters mod lets you replace Leon Kennedy with Peter Venkman or Egon Spengler.

From the looks of it, George Chief has used the 3D models from Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. As such, don’t expect high-polygon count to both of these 3D models. Thankfully, though, there are full facial expressions.

In order to showcase these mods, the modder released the following two videos. These videos will give you an idea of what you can expect from this Ghostbusters mod. Thus, I suggest watching them before downloading it.

You can download this Ghostbusters Mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake from here.

Have fun!

    1. man i do not get the joy people get out of these mods. if they were swapped with a funny looking character, sure but this is just boring.

  1. Hello JOHN,

Are you guys aware of this ? You can ignore this news, if it’s old or irrelevant..

PC Modder brings Raytracing/RTX to Resident Evil 2 with “Photorealistic” effects

Resident Evil 2 was already a great looking game on PC, but what if you took things to the next level? That that the Italian Modder, MassiHancer, had done, thanks to his work-in-progress “Photorealistic Graphic Mod” for the game.

Using programs like Reshade and Pascal Glitcher’s Raytraced Global Illumination shaders, MassiHancer has managed to add high-quality Color Grading, more realistic lighting, more detailed reflections and ray-traced global illumination to Resident Evil 2. This has significantly increased the graphical fidelity of Resident Evil 2, adding new reflections, new shadows and richer contrast.

Sadly, this mod is not available to download at this time. It currently utilises Pascal Gilcher’s RT shaders, which are only available to his $5/$20 Patreon subscribers. On top of this, MassiHancer’s mod is currently in development. In the future, we hope that MassiHancer will release this mod publically, though this may happen after Pascal Gilcher’s RT shaders release out of beta.

The gameplay footage below was played on a system with an i7-8700K processor and an RTX 2080 Ti graphics card. Sadly, the modded nature of this raytracing implementation prevents Resident Evil 2 from utilising hardware acceleration for its raytraced elements. This factor means that this mod cannot benefit from Nvidia’s RT and Tensor cores to accelerate this game’s raytracing implementation.

MassiHunter has showcased raytracing mods for several titles on YouTube, showcasing raytraced effects in Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order and “Filmic” mods for Star Wars Battlefront II, Battlefield V and several other games.

Raytracing is set to become a lot more common within AAA titles over the next few years, with both the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 boasting support for Hardware-Accelerated Raytracing. With both Nvidia and AMD supporting raytracing in hardware with future GPU releases, raytracing has moved from being a future technology to something that’s just around the corner for consoles and mainstream GPUs.
