CEMU 1.17.2 will be available to everyone tomorrow, brings multicore & performance improvements

The team behind the amazing Nintendo Wii U emulator, CEMU, will release a brand new version of it tomorrow. CEMU 1.17.2 brings major multicore & performance improvements. As such, players can expect to be running a variety of games faster than ever.

According to the release notes, CEMU 1.17.2 fixes an issue where the game list would display updates/dlc instead of the base game, if no base game was found. It also fixes a rare crash that could occur in any game due to a hash collision in the pipeline runtime cache.

It’s also worth noting that this new version of CEMU overhauls MP task queue API. It also fixes several race conditions which could lead to deadlocks in multi-core recompiler mode.

Below you can find the complete changelog for CEMU 1.17.2. I’ve also included some videos showing a number of WiiU games running on it.

Enjoy!

  1. What’s the best way to play a Nintendo game? PC of course. So many Nintendo fans bragging that graphics don’t matter. Only because they never played one of their “graphics don’t matter” games in 4k60fps with HD texture pack applied. I hope we see the day when Nintendo see the light like MS and Sony and starts brining their games to PC as well. There will always be the gamer that wants a Switch for on the go or the gamer that just wants to buy and Xbox plug it in a not have to think it, but there are also plenty of us that want play YOUR games on our PCs. Here is my cash, do you want it? Nahhh. You have to buy a Wii U, oh yeah, we don’t make them anymore. Just wait 10 years for a 1080p remaster for the Switch 2.

    1. Quote… playing MK8 on my 55 on 5k 60fps with better blur and debanding is just gorgeous, totally different experience compared to the horrid 720p without AA that come out from wiiu or that other horrid switch… If only nintendo make games for pc too!

Anyway, there’s a texture pack for mario kart 8? i’m interested in it

        1. well, if you had nvidia just use opengl and in nvidia control panel set thread optimization on and force nvidia on opengl gpu (in nvidia control panel); for the rest depends all from the gpu you have, for example my 2070 max-P can handle easily 5k resolution on mario.

If you have amd use vulkan instead of opengl, all here. Cemu is very very easy to config.

    1. me too, Fatal Frame V is the only reason I even care about this emulator. it’s partially playable, but for a game like Fatal Frame V, that’s the same as unplayable.

  2. Wow!
Now I’ll be able to play all of those Wii games I always wanted, like…

    I guess that’s all.
