Trepang Studios has released a brand new free demo for its upcoming FEAR-inspired indie FPS, Trepang2. This demo allows you to experience the game’s story prologue and fight through a 30+ wave horde mode.
Trepang2 is an indie first-person shooter that is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and is heavily inspired by the first FEAR game (gameplay-wise). Moreover, the game promises to pack an AI that will be better than what most modern-day shooters feature.
Trepang2 also promises to feature an immersive single player experience with brutal, fast paced close quarters gunfights. The game will come with chaotic shootouts involving multiple factions, and players will be able to go invisible to flank and sneak up on enemies.
In order to showcase this demo, Trepang Studios has also released a new gameplay trailer that you can find below.
Last but not least, you can download the demo from here. Also note that the demo is not compatible with Avast as the anti-virus program deletes game files and causes crashes. I
Have fun!

This game has been in development longer than Star Citizen…and for God’s sake the developer should change the title of the game asap.
it’s made by two actual game developers (the lead guy programs everything, one other guy makes animations) and they didn’t scam anyone on kickstarter either. let them work on their passion project.
I agree on the title but I think it’s placeholder.
Consider that Star Citizen isn’t even out yet. So it could actually get released in less development time.
It certainly runs smoother already.
Dude can you even do math?
I exaggerated on purpose for the sake of humor and that’s it. Didn’t mean to spread negative feelings that’s for sure as I’m pretty much aware of the development situation and this project has my full support.
Will this game eventually be released as a paid game or will it remain a free game?
Yeah, I just saw the Steam page.
Also, good news! According to a tweet reply from the developer the name Trepang2 is just a placeholder and will most likely change in the final game.
Looks like a great day to unwind after a long day. End of the vid was kinda strange tho.
Just finished playing the demo…gotta say its quite good! Feels very much like the first FEAR, they’ve pretty much recreated that game on their own! My only complaints, the lights are just too damn bright/intense, almost blinding to the point where I was squinting! The light brightness/intensity needs to be reduced significantly, and, the post-processing needs to be toned down a bit as well. Other than that, had a blast!
BTW, there are 2 demos in this. Once you finish the main one, wait for the end credits to finish, and it will start the second early demo with placeholder level design.
