Destiny 2 new feature

Bungie is looking into adding cross-play support to Destiny 2, but can’t make any promises

Cross-play is a feature that most multiplayer games should be offering these days. Seriously, this is a no brainer as it can make a huge difference in your multiplayer experience. And while Bungie is currently looking into adding such a feature in Destiny 2, it cannot make any promises.

As Bungie’s communications director David ‘Deej’ Dague told VGC, the team is keen to explore anything that would bring players together so that they can share their experiences.

“While we don’t have any promises to make about new features that will come online in the future, I can assure you that there is always a lively conversation at Bungie – as there was for years before we arrived at even cross-save – about things that we could do that would be good for players, and that we want to find the time and resources to invest in and bring to fruition.”

The most obvious challenge of adding cross-play support is the allocation of resources. Bungie will have to take into great consideration the extra amount of hours this feature will require.

Dague concluded:

“We make guided decisions as to where we want to invest our time: what sort of features do we think will be most useful to players? What things can we do to evolve the world of the game to keep people engaged and entertained?”

Realistically speaking, things are not looking that great at the moment. Still, let’s hope that Bungie will surprise us and add cross-play to its looter shooter.

  1. There would be too much salt in multiplayer, because of the steamrolling that consolists would get from PC players. And I bet they would call us cheaters.

    1. Actually it will probably be the other way around. PC players constantly complain about controllers. It’s funny and pathetic though. When it suits them, PC players talk about how console players wouldn’t stand a chance against them. When they actually get their a$$ handed to them by a controller player they all of a sudden forget what they said and start complaining about how controllers are a crutch and unfair because they have aim assist LMFAO. Make up your mind at least.

      1. Care to give an example? I’ve never seen PC players complaining about controller players.
In Destiny, using a controller lets you in big disadvantage, even with aim assist/magnetism: it doesn’t provides the same agility and accuracy as a mouse, and recoil is stronger when using a controller too. I can say this because I tried it myself. Other example is the world’s first raid race: At least the three latest competitions were won by PC players; in the latest contest, the winners were a group of former Xbox One players who moved to PC.
The PC version supports Dualshock 4 or X360/One Pads, but ask any player if they would play PvP with a controller.

It’s KB/M versus controllers, not controllers with aim assist, etc.

      1. Oh sorry…. So you say its a good game cuz it have lots of players??
Is fortnite the best game ever made?? Huh???
If its so good why it went free to play????
