New Resident Evil 3: Nemesis details surface; game changes, cast, new trailer, unannounced game & more

Capcom has revealed some new details about the upcoming Resident Evil 3 Remake, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. According to the team, the remake will have bigger changes and will not stick as close to the original as Resident Evil 2 Remake did. Not only that, but the developers may also change some story events.

Moreover, Capcom aims to make the game’s cast more interesting. Dario from Resident Evil 3 will also have a much larger role. The developers have also reimagined the Hunter enemy for the modern era and gameplay style, so they could make Hunters more interesting for a modern audience.

Capcom also plans to release a new trailer for Resident Evil 3 Nemesis in early 2020.

What’s also interesting here is that Capcom may be also working on another, unannounced Resident Evil game. Or at least that’s what the latest RE Ambassador program hints at. As the email clearly states:

“Also, as limited offers to Ambassadors, we have invitations to a play test session of our unannounced title*, and priority seats at our game show booth.”

Do note that in this very same email, Capcom names both Resident Evil Resistance and Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. So yeah, it remains to be see what this unannounced Resident Evil game is (perhaps Resident Evil 8?).

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Nah, I don’t think the new unannounced game is another Resident Evil, Capcom already have three in the works, two mainline games and a spin off, another one would be overkill.

    1. My hopes will probably be crushed but I’d really like to see a Dragons Dogma 2 that expands upon the first game with a better Open World, deeper combat system, more movesets, more enemy variety and a new class.

  2. ” the remake will have bigger changes and will not stick as close to the original as Resident Evil 2 Remake did. Not only that, but the developers may also change some story events.”

So its not a remake its a reboot.

“The developers have also reimagined the Hunter enemy for the modern era and gameplay style, so they could make Hunters more interesting for a modern audience.”

So it wont look like a frog because frogs are pepes now and the hunter will have white privilege and ask for permission before eating Jill?

Die in a fire capcom. You hired too many westerners and ruined it with their re imagining it, stop trying to change your game to appeal to westerners you dumb fcks, western games suck sht now, no one is buying them. Freaking morons.

    1. Quite honestly, 3 was never as good as 2. If they think they could make it better, more power to em. They redesigned a few things in RE 2 as well, i wouldn’t be worried.

      1. Do you think these re**rds and by that i mean the people who make games today can make it better than the orginal game? Was re 7 that great? Not really everything that was good about it was copying outlast and the old re games but not doing the latter as well. Re6 was so bad at being RE that it was a good action game on pc, re5 was a sh*t coop clone of re4 with nowhere near as good gameplay or as long. Do you really thing they can make it “better” their definition of “better” is making it more modern. The only reason re2 was this good was because it copied an old good game.

Thats like saying “lets remake re 4 for the modern era”

So many things will change, the way leon looks, they gonna smear sh*t over his face and cut his hair, change ashley to look ugly an unattractive, change the environment and remove the difficulty spikes by removing the parts that they throw to many enemies and unfair moments, f*k up the economy with the ammo and money drops, you know they will f*k it up.

        1. Ok for one. Ashley IS ugly and unattractive.

Second, remaking a beloved game and keeping old fans happy and bringing in new fans takes talent. It’s not simply “good cus of the old game”.

You’re simply living in the past. Capcom has been doing good things since RE 7, which was a good game.

Which btw, you can’t say the only good thing about an RE game is the RE parts.

          1. “You’re simply living in the past. ”

            motherfcker what?

We all live in the past 80s made a comeback a bazillion of old games got a remaster, to a point half the games this gen have been remasters or remakes like crash bandicoot, spyro the dragon, medievil, re2, halo masterchief collection, gears of war remake final fantasy 7. Not to mention games like dusk, amid evil, ion fury, bloodstained and all the other throwback games.

The only reason re2 remake was good was because “cuz old game good” re imagining things is bs, prime example most wanted 2012.

“You’re simply living in the past. Capcom has been doing good things since RE 7”

Re 6 was changed to appeal to a new audience and specifically told you that you stick to the past and need to move on. Re 7 is classic re with outlast and the same style that other pc horror games had a few years ago.

“you can’t say the only good thing about an RE game is the RE parts.”

Wtf does this suppose to mean exactly? Yes the best part about re2 remake is that its like re 2, you dont go to resident evil for story telling or rpg mechanics.

          2. Dude, you’re an absolute mess.

You’re living in the past cus your acting like Capcom made re 6 and dmc:dmc (i know they didn’t develop it) yesterday.

You mentioned Medievil and that stands testament that remaking something is not an instant success. Quit acting like games are the movie industry. Remakes aren’t that common nor is it sign of running out of ideas.

You were saying RE 7 wasn’t that great, because RE and outlast elements were the only good thing about it. Which is stupid, cus your saying the only good thing about an RE game is that it’s like RE……

          3. >Dude, you’re an absolute mess.

proceeds into say this nonsensical bs

“You’re living in the past cus your acting like Capcom made re 6 and dmc:dmc (i know they didn’t develop it) yesterday.”

            WUT?

“Quit acting like games are the movie industry. ”

            WUT?

You call me an absolute mess but you make no freaking sense.

“You were saying RE 7 wasn’t that great, because RE and outlast elements were the only good thing about it. Which is stupid, cus your saying the only good thing about an RE game is that it’s like RE…..”

            Dude WTF YOU TALKING ABOUT?

and you call me an absolute mess. You sound like your game is scrambled eggss

          4. Pffft ok. This conversation is over. Since you obviously can’t comprehend english anymore.

And you can say i’m making no sense all you want, it doesn’t make it true. It only makes it sound like you have no response to anything i had to say.

          5. To be fair RE always had a unique method of storytelling that few other games manage to pull off – System Shock 2, Bioshock, RE, Alone in the Dark (original not the trash new ones), Fatal Frame, silent hill, etc.

It was cheesy and stupid but it definitely had storytelling and it definitely was better at it than the remakes.

          6. You should probably play RE4 – she definitely wasn’t. And you’re wrong about everything else too.

REmake 2 was awful. The only reason it succeeded is because it was short enough that the facade of being RE2 held up under scrutiny for the ~6 hours it took to beat the first time. Once you think about it for more than 5 seconds, it’s worse than the original. They ruined the tyrant and not only that but they jumped the shark for RE3 because now Nemesis chasing you all the time is going to be old news. They ruined replay value by not putting in proper A/B scenarios. They completely dropped the ball on the storytelling and literally didn’t even finish the second half of the game. Not to mention 90% of the game is the same and instead of putting a unique spin on it, they just cut and pasted sequences from the original in a different order so that it makes less sense. I mean look I enjoyed the game as much as possible, but it’s not RE2 and never will be RE2.

RE7 didn’t have non-RE parts but if you’re referring to the Outlast reference, that’s internet-meme bs nonsense that people who haven’t actually played rE7 liked to toss around when it came out.

          7. Look her up, shes not pretty at all.

I have none if the problems with re 2 as you do.The game always made sense and had plenty of modern additions that made it unique compared to the original. Zapping system may be gone, but I was never a die hard fan of it. Whether it’s better then the original is debatable, and not a debate i care enough about, to start.

Nemises was based on him to begin with. If they improve on the prior game, it’s no different. Not like.nemises is that unique to begin with. Clock Tower did it first.

I don’t know what your trying to say about re 7. I wasn’t the one who claimed it “ripped off outlast”. It was the other dumb a*s. It felt pretty RE to me, and i enjoyed it.

        2. I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with you more than your first sentence.

This is the realism these nostalgiaboys don’t seem to understand. The people who are like “OMG ff7 remake finally OMGOMGOMG!!!”

Do they SERIOUSLY think these modern developers – most of whom flat out simply didn’t work at Capcom or Squaresoft at the time and so just don’t get it – can really produce the same game as the original?

No one ever has a response to this.

I thought I finally convinced my friend to be intelligent about it and see it this way and now he says “I’m going to buy FF7 remake just to point out the differences and see how bad they did.” Um ok. So you’re going to pay them $100 or whatever FF7 ends up costing, so you can complain about it not being FF7? He was like “You getting it?” and I said “No. I already own FF7. I’ll stick to not playing it like I already do.

But then you digressed. I wouldn’t say RE7 was “that great” but compared to RE4 through 6, yes. RE7 was an actual RE game, it just happened to be first person. The fact that you’re stuck on this non-existent parallel to Outlast shows you haven’t actually played RE7.

RE4 was trash in the first place. It was a good game at the time but it’s a terrible RE game. They already ruined what the game could have been by making every enemy drop an item, so there’s nothing they could do to make that worse besides make them NOT drop ammo, meaning it would actually be a challenge.

They won’t remake RE4 though. RE4 is the holy grail of little btch casual fanboys. It’s the “reason RE still exists” according to most people. Even though the original games all sold 6 million. People won’;t stand for it. The reason they can get away with remaking RE1/2/3/probably CV is because the crybaby RE4 fans asked for it – they are too bad to play the real RE games and the old graphics and the old controls hurt their feelings.

          1. first of all ff7 remake is already screwed, they change the way characters look to fit the modern era, it will be 3 games the first one will focus only in the city, Midgar i believe it was called? So its not gonna be the same game. Granted when i played re4 i was like “wtf is this sht?” But over the years i enjoyed the game for what it was a action game with varied situations and ammo managment and upgrades. Interesting factoid here, ea was gonna make system shock 3, this is what dead space was gonna be but then they saw the sales of RE4 and decided to turn it into what dead space came out to be. My comparison on RE7 with outlast is abundantly clear, no idea why you didnt get it, i said that the best parts of the game are the ones that is like the old games, eg mansion, puzzles nonlinear areas. etc etc. The rest of the game is trying to be like outlast, camera footage, stealth, weathered desolate condemned muddy areas like a snuff film or like manunt. The good stuff about the game is the stuff that is like the old re games, the rest is desperately trying to copy western first person stealth horror games like outlast…with paranormal stuff. In the past i thought that after re3, the re games will become more open ended and nonlinear like something between system shock and deus ex , you will explore actual cities with zombies and solve puzzles, not whatever the fck re4 was supposed to be.

        3. I don’t think I’ve ever agreed with you more than your first sentence.

  3. “Moreover, Capcom aims to make the game’s cast more interesting. Dario from Resident Evil 3 will also have a much larger role. ”

That’s interesting, RE3 beginning was a bit convoluted, like you where already in the middle of the game, and there is also the feel that the game is just an expansion pack from RE2 back in the day, but that feel is still present in this one lmao.

    1. Did you not read a single word on screen or ever hear a word about RE3 before you played it?

RE3 was made with cut content from the development process of RE2. It came out 20 months after RE2. The story begins 24 hours before RE2 when the outbreak is starting and ends 24 hours after RE2, after the lab has been destroyed and the government destroys the city to cover it up.

The beginning of RE3 is Jill is trying to escape the city so, yes to everything.

  4. They also removed Denuvo from REboot 2

“the remake will have bigger changes and will not stick as close to the original as Resident Evil 2 Remake did”
But they changed a shitton on that too
“The developers have also reimagined the Hunter enemy for the modern era and gameplay style, so they could make make Hunters more interesting for a modern audience.”
aka Hunter Gamma is too problematic

F*k this game and f*k “modern audiences”

    1. fck the westerners that capcom has hired more accurately. They are responsible for this. Same goes for square enix’s ethics department, playstation hq relocating to california and cd projekt being 75% foreigners now.

      1. Companies hierarquies are so crazy nowadays that the new hires are calling the shots. Seriously how many times are you gonna rage like this: “based company gets big, get cucked”. I have seen it a million times before, i really don’t care anymore and just go on pirating games.

    2. “But they changed a shitton on that too”

RE2 dropped the ball on the scenarios, there was no incentive to play Leon 1st, Claire 2nd then the reverse, i only played Claire 1st for the first few cutscenes but the rest is the same.

    1. They will probably modify some animations, but in the violence department the newer RE games are way more violent (so violent Japan gets the censored version). And btw, that’s the first time i have seen Jill eaten as a sandwich lmao.

      1. It’s been a thing for 20 years. If you aren’t careful, gamma’s literally swallow you whole. It only happens if you’re right next to them. If you’re far away, they will leap attack and decapitate you.

      1. lol no they didn’t. This is an emulated version of the game on PC – not even the PC version because the PC version doesn’t work anymore due to video drivers.

  5. I’m all for some minor characters getting a bit more story to them, but the last thing I want is the game being changed 80% lore wise. I mean it’s called RE3 remake, not “here’s what actually happened, chapter 3”.

  6. Why do Hunter Gamma’s need to be “more interesting”?

They literally leapt at you and ate you whole.

As soon as you entered the hospital they would straight up eat you if you were bad. What needs to be “more interesting” ?

Are they going to royally drop the ball and F* the story up on this one too? Tell me more.
