Red Dead Redemption 2-PC-4

Red Dead Redemption 2 gets a new 2.9GB update, resolves CPU issues and numerous crashes

Rockstar has released a brand new update for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption 2. The November 19th update, which is 2.9GB in size, brings improvements to address an issue that resulted in stalls on 4-core and 6-core CPUs.

Moreover, this patch aims to fix numerous crashes. For instance, it addresses the issues that resulted in random crashes. It also addresses the “Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly” error during gameplay. As such, I know hope that I will be able to play the game in DX12 without the game crashing in towns.

Do note that this patch will reset your graphics settings. As such, you’ll have to manually adjust your settings to their previous values. This will be a pain in the ass for those that were using custom settings and not a preset.

But anyway, the Rockstar Games Store and the Epic Games Store launchers will download this patch the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

Red Dead Redemption 2 November 19th PC Patch Notes
  • Improvements to address an issue that resulted in stalls on 4-core and 6-core CPUs
  • Players with NVIDIA graphics cards and 4-core or 6-core CPUs should install the GeForce Hotfix Driver Version 441.34 from NVIDIA and remove any launch arguments to resolve this issue.

  1. And again they don’t even mention error x20010006 which gets you disconnected from rockstar servers, saying its their fault. But this has been around forever it seems, and it also seems they won’t even try to fix it.

  2. Jez, there’s gotta be at least 2 dozen crash instances that’s have been listed in the patch notes these last couple weeks. What a farce that they even released it when it was in that state.

  3. More steady progress in updating the beta release on the beta store for betas in readiness for the real deal launch on Steam.

Talking of #EpicFail, Shenmue III just got cracked by CODEX. ?

“the Bethesda Store and the Epic Games Store launchers will download this patch”
Shouldn’t that be the Rockstar Games Launcher, not Bethesda Store?

      1. An easy mistake to make given that the game’s launch on PC would have made Bugthesda proud! Red Dead Redemption 76, anyone? ?

    1. The beauty here is to see how many people STILL sucking rockstars DIKK. Rockstar can do no wrong I tell ya. Only in the gaming world can you charge someone 60-100 dollars for a product, have it not work and they still defend the long DIKK that’s constantly Fuqin them up the AZZ. Any other industry this would not be tolerated. Imagine buying a brand new vehicle and it has to be in the shop every week for an update for the God damn car to even start.

This game is the worse PC release since Watch dogs 1, i hear in some cases it’s even worse but the Dikk lickers won’t complain for SCHITT, they’ll defend their master to death and jump down your throat for saying otherwise.

      1. I definitely agree with that broad sentiment albeit the example of the industry you provided for the purposes of comparison perhaps wasn’t the best choice. For example, a company such as Ford has made numerous vehicles with appalling safety standards over the years from the Pinto to the current Mustang and yet they still have a legion of fanboys willing to defend them and continue buying their products.

        1. Understandable, but I’ve yet to see a Ford that can’t even drive off the lot. Let’s not take my example too literal. The point is there is a standard, BUT the gaming industry and it’s lickers have none. And I ain’t no fan of Ford. You are also right, legions of fanboys everywhere. I’ve worked in the automotive industry for 15 years and I know those Ford boys but it’s more of a, “my grandfather owned one, my dad, my uncle, etc… It’s brand loyalty via kin. Ain’t saying it’s right, But this gaming industry B.S, is just a bunch of idiots with FOMO. Ain’t none of us grandpappy “owned a Rock star game”. Therefore, they are destroying this industry to the core.

You think Rockstar didn’t know this game was broken to it’s core? They knew. But what they knew more was that they could get away with it. There is no coincidence that they left steam out of the launch release because they knew the schitt storm that would happen with the refunds. For every refund that happens, a publisher losses money. So that puts them in the negative on every game sold and refunded. No one can get a God damn refund, Rockstar ain’t refunding Schitt. But they can do no wrong.

          1. The absolute worst vehicle brand fanboys today are those from the Cult of Tesla, lol!

Yep, Rockstar apologists are nearly as awful as the self-appointed fanboy armies of Nintendo, CD Projekt Red, Sony and Microsoft. They don’t come close to rivalling the idiocy of Hideo Kojima fanboys though!

          2. HAHA, TESLA… What an Extreme Joke Of Vehicle & Customer Base. Their Lord and leader Elon Musk that wants to bring on the universal income socialism, while posing as our savior for warning us about AI, WHICH H’es THE ONE BRINGING TO SURFACE.

Elon Musk: hey, hey guys, you know that we will need to push the government to give universal income right? Because of my plans to have A.I take over the world.

Oh Jesus Christ, lets not get started on Hideo KONjima. This man makes some of the worse games/gaming mechanics and he gets so much praise i don’t get it. I remember when i first played metal gear solid on Playstation as a kid, I was like “what is this garbage”. Got to the yard with the Tank and just returned the game to Blockbuster. Incoming, RIOTING Thumbs Down. I love the Witcher Franchise but we all know the Witcher 3 Should’ve ran better an look better. It’s as if they downgraded that game but the performance hit of the prestigious graphics that was REMOVED is still there. Makes no sense.

The Witcher 3 is my all time favorite game but i call CDPR out for that console PARITY BS everyday. But i lost interest in Cyberpunk 2077 once they said FPS incoming. A company like CDPr should develop the game so you have both option flawlessly, but nah.. Lets be lazy.

          3. The worst vehicule brand fanboys are those who venerate sh**ty American brands like: GMC, Dodge, Ford, Chevy, (now that the Oldsmobile and Pontiac fiascos are dead..)

      2. “worst”*, not “worse”.

And Watch Dogs 2 wasn’t really a disaster at launch. It just never ran very well.

      3. You don’t play the game, its perfectly optimized on my PC! (i7 7700k + 2070S, 80fps+)
If you play an open world like this with an i5 4cores, buy a console !

  4. “Improvements to address an issue that resulted in player weight decreasing at a faster rate than intended in Red Dead Online when running at high frame rates”

Incompetent greedy bastards im so glad i did not buy this crap on ps4 or pc they dont deserve my money.

  5. So you’re saying the 150+ Gb that game originally came with wasn’t enough and you need to DL another 2.9 GB’s? Man i could’ve sworn 150+GBs would’ve done the trick i.e result in a perfectly balanced game. Oh well guess i was wrong. What’s another 3 GBs? why not make it 20 more while we’re at it.

    1. Wtf? The 2.9 GB download isn’t making the total file size bigger lmao. They are replacing existing files.

Yeah you’re using bandwidth to download the files but what’s the alternative? It’s extremely difficult to launch a game completely bug free.

        1. Dude…

          500gb HDD 55$
          500gb SSD 80$

I mean don’t buy the fortnite trashpass once and it’ll make up the difference. Or skip a trashdonald meal and there you go.

Pretty sure you didn’t even check prices before saying wtv came into your mind.

*edit : and those are newegg canada prices. Didn’t even check deals. Pretty sure i could get better prices than that.

        1. Well the AI has become aware. he’s now creating other AI’s to do his dirty work. Robo-Fernando makes the T-800 obsolete.
