First gameplay trailer released for Beyond a Steel Sky

Revolution Software has released the first gameplay trailer for Beyond a Steel Sky. As the title suggests, Beyond a Steel Sky is the sequel to classic adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky. Thus, I’m certain that most adventure fans will be happy to see some proper in-game footage from it.

Beyond a Steel Sky will tell is a thrilling story of loyalty and redemption. Moreover, the game will be set in an eery and terrifying world of AI-driven social controls, and will be woven with the studio’s signature humor, supported by Gibbons’ acclaimed artistic style.

Beyond a Steel Sky is a hugely ambitious adventure in which intelligent, humorous emergent gameplay drives an edgy narrative. The game will feature a dynamic, bounded-sandbox world; a unique world that will respond to player’s actions. Furthermore, the game AI-tech characters, will be wilful and motivated; their intelligent responses will allow interesting, emergent solutions to puzzles and obstacles.

Beyond a Steel Sky will also have simple, intuitive controls. These controls will allow complex situations to emerge, offering a gameplay experience that will appeal to the novice as well as the experienced gamer.

According to the developers, Beyond a Steel Sky promises to evolve and redefine the adventure genre.

  1. Wish indie devs would stop trying to copy “AAA” style trailer reveals, and just show us some actual depth to what the game is about. I want to see what sort of combat it has.

    Also, I can tell this is one of the types of games Epic will poach. They seem to go for the ones with a certain style.

  2. Actually, the title suggests that this is either a remake or a reboot. The number “2” is usually needed to suggest a sequel.

    But I guess so much time has passed since the original, not one but two whole generations of gamers have never heard of it, and the devs don’t want to alienate so many people.
