Borderlands 3 will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech

The official Epic Games Store page for Borderlands 3 has been updated, revealing that the game will be using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech. Now I’m pretty sure that this is something that will definitely displease a lot of Borderlands fans. Still, it’s good knowing prior to the game’s release that it will use this controversial anti-tamper tech.

Borderlands 3 is a game that a lot of gamers are looking forward to. However, 2K Games has done everything it can to dishearten its PC fans. The game will be initially exclusive on the Epic Games Store and it will also use a DRM that most PC gamers hate.

Given the fact that this is Borderlands 3 we’re talking about, it will be interesting to see how the cracking community will react. While a certain group claimed that it was able to crack the latest version of Denuvo, there are still a lot of uncracked games.

Naturally, and as you may have guessed, the game will also have cosmetic micro-transactions. Gearbox stated that there won’t be any pay to win mechanics, and that the microtransactions will focus on cosmetics. Still, this is another thing that will piss a number of gamers.

Borderlands 3 releases on September 13th. The game will feature a new pinging system and Gearbox stated that it may add support for cross-play platform. As such, cross-play won’t be available at launch.

Last but not least, Borderlands 3 promises to take full advantage of the most powerful PC hardware available. Gearbox has partnered with AMD so it may favour both AMD Radeon graphics cards and Ryzen CPUs. The game will also be one of the first that will support AMD’s new FidelityFX tech.

    1. I know I’m not, specifically after the boycotting thats going around. this is jsut a stab at everyone to try and not allow it to be pirated. but you can bet your butt, that this game will get high attention to be cracked just to shove it in B*chfords face and 2Ks. count on it!!

  1. BTW John, those games that have not been cracked are becasue they are low on the want list. most crackers wont waster their time on those games. BL3 is another monster all together. count on it getting cracked.

    1. Nope, thats not true. The new denuvo is evolving and its hard to krack. They now try to found the new version weakness so it can be kracked efficiently and they wait those games to get enough update before krack it. And because kracking day 1 denuvo games is pointless…

  2. Not many people will buy the game on EGS anyway. They’re paying more for Denuvo license than the few thousand sales EGS will make.

Real money will come from Steam release.

    1. The amount of money epic gives them, more than make up for it all. It’s a win win for Games like these. They’ll get paid millions to go exclusive. Then a year later rerelease on steam and bank from all the FuqBoy idiots that forgot how they’ve been 2nd class citizened by these practices. But most gamers are useful idiots that doesn’t give a damn about ethics, they just wanna play with their favorite toy, even if the toy maker doesn’t favors them.

      1. The epic bribe check is short term and short sighted. A one time payment, but game and developer gets the stink of a bad reputation which will last for years. For lesser developers that could mean franchise death. For all others it’s lost sales they will never recover.

  3. Not only is there no pre-load, but also store exclusivity and DRM slapped on top…

jesus, this has been the biggest FU to PC gamers in a while.

  4. Just FYI, Denuvo impacts performance negatively for everyone. Pirates will find a way around it, as they always do. So the only one affected by this is the person who actually buys it.

  5. Triple A developers and publishers need to f*king die already.
    They’re nothing but cancer

Reminder that Randy Pitchford sued a wheelchair bound man for making a Duke Nukem sourceport for mobile even when he had license, reminder that he sent a private investigator to a jounalists house due to Borderlands 3 leak concerns, reminder that he has parties where he and friends ogle barely legal (and likely underage) girls, reminder that Pitchford shares animal abuse videos on twitter, reminder that his wife looks like a hambeast.

  6. I just hope the game is less CPU bound than BL2 and Pre-Sequel or at least, can better leverage multithread CPUs.

  7. Good. very good. Please always-online for a full package.

Game is already an Epic exclusive SJW crap.

Also you’ll be banned from their forums if you misgender (wtf is that?) a ROBOT.

  8. Marinating in microtransaction sh*t and locked behind the EGS Spyware Client as well, so even if I did get it, wouldn’t happen for a few years like I did with BL1 and 2, on sale for ~$10 with everything included. 2k is going to milk a “Steam Re-release Event” with little to no price drop (and that wont happen for another year), so I might be waiting for a very long time.

Thankful for modding and the very few microtransactions-free singleplayer games coming that let me enjoy this hobby without getting my wallet, privacy, personal property, or system resources violated.

    1. There is no “MTX sh*t”, dullard. It’s cosmetic skins just like BL2 had, and is hardly required to enjoy the game.

EGS is the reason to boycott this game, not dumb skins that can be ignored.

      1. if its in the game, its part of the game. no more bs. we know cosmetics are PART OF THE GAME, otherwise they wouldnt be monetized at all. so either give me the full experience for my money or dont have it in the game at all.

        1. GIvE mE tHe FuLl ExpErIenZ

It is the full experience, dingaling. By all means cry over a few other costume colors that cost 99 cents. Like WGAF

          1. nope. either put it all on the table or dont make it at all. take your excuses somewhere else idiot.

      2. Hi there. MTX = microtransactions. Here’s the definition of the word microtransaction: “a very small financial transaction conducted online.” So those cosmetic skins you referred to are, by definition, microtransactions.

If you don’t mind MTX, that’s fine. But going around saying something isn’t what it is is just silly.

        1. It’s not the definition of MTX that’s on trial here. It is man-children trying to conflate the $hitty kind that give you an advantage over other players or lock game content behind MTX’s – with the benign kind like skins. Get a grip.

  9. You play one Borderlands, then you’ve played them all. 10 years ago this game would’ve been awesome. Now, seen it, done it & won’t miss it. I wouldn’t waste money on this even if it was DRM-Free. I wouldn’t even pirate this. Nothing new to see here.

  10. It’s incredible how a good game can resists that amount of crap at the same time. I am still interested because is the f*king BL3, what’s the next step? make it 200$?

  11. They just another example of a Dev that not confident with their own product. Good games will always attract buyer. By putting condom in your product, not only it will pissed gamers but also less pleasure 😀
