505 Games and Remedy have released the story trailer for their upcoming supernatural action adventure game, Control. Control is set in a unique and ever-changing world that juxtaposes our familiar reality with the strange and unexplainable.
After a secretive agency in New York is invaded by an otherworldly threat, players will take on the role of Jesse Faden (Courtney Hope), the new Director struggling to regain Control.
This sandbox-style promisese to challenge players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.
The game is powered by the Northlight Engine and Remedy will be using real-time ray tracing for reflections, contact shadows, diffuse global illumination and transparent reflections.
Control is currently planned for an August 27th release.

We all have fun with our superhero films and monster films and all, but we don’t get out of the theatre feeling… “damn that’s a 90% on metacritic for sure”.. so you see, the best-ever playing games don’t come from AAA games, but we can see from their ‘product’ how much money they’ve put into creating a spectacle, same as with marvel/dc flicks.
I mean, think about the budget that went for Quantum Break and explain to me whether EA would ever conceive of ever funnelling their child-exploitation-earned-multi-billion-dollar money into such projects that has zero GaaS, recurrent user spending bs slapped in? Nope, it goes to the friggin white degenerates up top who force their designers to come up with another Ultimate Team. Activision contemplates how to turn your CoDs into friggin Candy Crush. Man, EA had to double down on that Singleplayer-Jedi-Crap just for the sake of saving face.
That is exactly why Remedy are in my AAA Good Book. Remedy sure’ve never taken the ‘singleplayer games are dead’ route and yet have spent like crazy. You just don’t get that enough these days.
“SP AAA is dying” doesn’t mean we’ll have to accept every SP AAA as a godlike game, there are plenty other devs that never took the “dying SP AAA” route, and are far more ambitious and independent than Remedy, look at CDP, id Software, Rocksteady, Arkane, FromSoftware, IO… All of them are better than today’s Remedy just wake up
And please dont compare Remedy to EA or Activision just to make them look “good” these 2 companies dont even exist in my head and the last time i bought a game from them i had hair on my head

For the 1st paragraph, i’ll come directly to the money spent on QB, as it’s a very bad example of what you’re talking about, a lot of money has been spent on creating a mediocre TV Show alongside the game instead of putting all the money on the actual game, perhaps QB would be a great Remedy game by now, instead all we got is a corridor shooter that lasts 5H with no replay value and costed 70$ on MS Store at launch.

Ahh shud’ve worded it better. I like my FromSoftwares and Ninja Theorys and Team Ninjas and all but they are nowhere near spending as much as your contemporary AAA studios like those from Ubi or EA or Take Two. So I guess now you know where Im getting at by saying AAA game studios.
And Quantum Break was a crazy anomaly for its time. More so now with Control. It was a glorified corridor shooter in the ilk of Modern Warfare the original. I mean, MW fits my definition of the blockbuster game. Later CoDs had filler singleplayer mode hiding in a high budget glaze. And whole tv series in a game.. thats the stuff you get when a publisher (microsoft here) trusts a studio to create a high-budget game thats both original and ambitious in scope, not to mention singleplayer only. Shame the whole package is diluted.. thru ms connection I guess, but it came to fruition anyhoo.

Yea that was the problem, they sold thier best IP to Rockstar. But that game sure did come out great. I feel even if this one is a low metacritic game (and I don’t ever trust em), it will have that big spectacle in its play, like Quantum Break did, something other publishers have time and again distanced themselves away from, all for greed (too much risk they say, with their singleplayer games are dead crap and all).

Remedy releases lowered PC system requirements for Control…..Remedy’s Control is due to release on August 27th on the Epic Games Store, and before now the game’s PC system requirements were shockingly high, asking for an RX 580 or GTX 1060 as a minimum graphics card. For context, that’s equivalent to asking for a PS4 Pro level graphics card.
Now, Remedy has come to their sense and have released revised PC system requirements for their game, shifting things down to more reasonable levels. Given the fact that this game is designed to run on both consoles and PC, it makes sense that the PC version of the game can run on much lower-end hardware than what was previously recommended.
Control’s PC version will be able to run with some fairly modest PC components, requiring a minimum of an R9 280X graphics card or a GTX 780 (both of which are 3GB graphics cards), 8GB of system memory and either an i5-4690 or AMD FX 4350 processor. These system specifications sit far below the game’s original PC system requirements.
Remedy recommends that PC gamers play Control on beefier hardware, such as AMD’s Ryzen 5 1600X or Intel i5-7600K processor and graphics cards like AMD’s RX 580 or Nvidia’s GTX 1060/1660. If gamers want to enable raytracing, Nvidia’s RTX 2060 or higher is recommended. Control will support both DirectX 11 and DirectX 12, with DirectX 12 being a requirement for raytracing.
