The Dark Pictures Anthology 4

The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan, from the developers of Until Dawn, releases on August 30th

Bandai Namco has announced that the first part of The Dark Pictures, the next game from the team behind Until Dawn, will release on August 30th. The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of stand-alone, cinematic horror games, designed to present a new terrifying experience on a regular basis. Each game is unconnected and will feature a brand new story, setting and new cast of characters.

The first game in the anthology will be called The Dark Pictures – Man of Medan. In Man of Medan, four young Americans set sail on a diving trip, to find the rumoured location of a WWII wreckage. As the day unfolds, and a storm rolls in, their trip soon becomes something much more sinister.

Players can take the role of each of the five protagonists, the four Americans and the captain of the boat, each with a different perspective. Players will explore and discover the mysteries of their terrifying situation, and be forced to make decisions that will change their lives forever.

As the publisher has noted, each game is designed to be replayable, with branching storylines, paths, and numerous endings designed to keep players coming back for more. Players decisions are vital for survival of all the characters. With any combination of choices made can result in any of them surviving, dying or worse.

        1. Once you understand “deferred rending engine” you will begin to understand that the same features in Decima can be replicated in UE4, CryEngine, and Unity even.

PS gamers only gloat about Decima because it’s compatibility with PS hardware…which by the way Until Dawn didn’t even run that great on PS4. if you check out it’s Digitalfoundary. low FPS dips, in the 20s.

DF- “with some of its lowest drops to 20fps occurring during close-ups.”

Which is why Hidden Agenda was viewed as a upgrade. much better performance and fidelity.

  1. Reminds me that horror movie that they investigate this ship which has ghosts in it and Emily Browning.

  2. Still don’t know what to think about this game.
Love interactive movies, big fan of Quantic games, but this is different in some way I can’t explain.
