Splash Damage and 343 Industries have announced that the Flighting program for Halo: The Master Chief Collection PC has been delayed. While the teams targeted an April launch, the flighting program has been delayed and even though there isn’t any estimated date yet, we believe that it will go live later this month.
Furthermore, Splash Damage has revealed some additional new details about the PC version. According to the team, the PC version will feature robust action mapping options, great mouse/keyboard input across the entire game, low input latency by leveraging raw input and latency validation via slow motion cameras and support for a broad set of mouse and gameplay options.
Moreover, PC gamers can expect support for FOV sliders (to the extent each game can realistically support), updated UI controls, robust video and game options, text chat, as well as support for 4K resolutions, GSync/Freesync monitors and high refresh rates.
Below you can find all the new tech details about Halo: The Master Chief Collection PC.

May 1st? I’m glad to see that you guys have mastered time travel to bring us this news.
time zone
Splash Damage ? there goes a bit of my hype I don’t like those losers
why?
Brink.
They have more good games than bad in their history. I say give them a shot.
Oh wow…you can alt-tab!!! that’s a feature!
Seriously?
They are trying to hard to make look like a true PC port! 😀
You’d be surprised how many games handle alt-tabbing very poorly lol.
Go try cs go and league of legends and tell me if alt tab works properly cause its not
Yeah, it does. In borderless windowed mode.
“Borderless windowed” and thats a problem too, cause I use fullscreen and its not working properly.
-d3d9ex
Full screen, too. Directx9.
Alt tab works without problems now in CSGO. Win 7 and Win 10 tested. You might have to use the dx9 mode, I use that so it might be necessary, not sure.
Honestly, it is. Old or new, all kinds of games on PC have problems with being alt-tabbed. Them having this on their radar is a good sign, even though of course everyone should by default. The fact is most don’t and therefore 343 are already doing above average just by paying lip service to the idea.
Splash Damage…. The guys that made that awful Brink game? Okay I’m tempering my expectations
It’s not like they’re making the game. They’re just porting it.
Oh yeah I understand that but the quality of that game was pure sh*t… but it’s been a long time since Brink so maybe their team is much better than before.
Porting older games should be relatively easy. I mean, you really don’t even need to worry about optimization as hardware has improved so much that even a rough port will run like butter.
Not to mention, most of the software they’re using is probably already coded and provided by MS.
Ehhh that heavily depends on the game and HOW hardwired the code is (if it is that bad then back engineering is a pain in the a$$).
As an example this is from the one of the recent builds in PC Gamer article:
“the full UI and functionality to remap keys isn’t in yet so if you want to change defaults, it requires launching a separate application”
If keybindings require that much work then I can’t imagine how most other things were coded.
That’s absolutely true. Adding features does take a lot more work (especially if you didn’t write the original code).
I was mostly just referring to getting it up and running at a basic level. But, I’m also assuming there wasn’t a tone of hardware/software specific optimizations, which can be a real pain to undo and get working on standard hardware.
Ok I see and yeah 100%. Honestly with the info I’ve heard from the builds it’s going to take some time to get it at a proper PC level and we’re all more than willing to wait (it’s been 10+ years, what’s a few more months).
This industry is filled with making barebones, broken and grindy games upon release (I blame the instant gratification/social media generation and console mindset for this). So I’m extremely happy MS are learning and taking their time.
I too am willing to let this game slow cook for a while. Good games, like you mentioned, are getting harder and harder to come by. Sekiro was a breath of fresh air. I’ve never really been a Halo guy, but something about having it on PC just makes it way more interesting to me.
True Sekiro is a brilliant game. My only complaints were the same exact animations are used repeatedly and only being able to use ONE combat art/Ninjustsu ability at a given time.
I love variation in my games and requiring me to go to a menu to change that is poor design in my opinion.
Similarly to how TW3 Sign system required you to “slow” the game down to switch between them. A Sign Mod completely rectified this (the signs are a combo trigger so LT+X/A/B/Y allowed you to seamlessly use them which 100% improved the combat) but the 95% of people who played the game had to use the terrible default combat system.
Yeah, I had the same complaint. I couldn’t really think of a better way to implement more than one, personally, so I do at least give them that credit. Perhaps they could have combined the grapple with the jump button (like a double jump), and used the trigger as a modifier switch, letting it be used with other buttons to trigger different arts, perhaps).
I did get the feeling they made this game on a little bit more of a budget than DS3 (repeating bosses/enemies/areas), but it still came out pretty good.
Yeah oh enemy variation was lacking as well but not too bad. A sequel will do wonders with a bigger budget.
A simple way would be what TW3 Mod did but improve it. Make a combo trigger. LT (Block) + Face Buttons (So you can do any 4 combat Arts). Use Down (D Pad) to switch between your Combat Art loadouts.
Took me legit 10 seconds to think of that lol. The same could be applied to the Prosthetics. Anything that keeps me out of the menu and in the game is a plus.
That is a simple yet brilliant way of taking care of the issue. Shame they didn’t think of it. :/
Thanks I appreciate it!
hows about updated textures as well?. The game is old since 2014, and even by then, the already older games could use yet another coat of paint.
bad goyim. buy this product and rebuy the graphically enhanced version in 2 years. consume product.
Yeah, I agree… Sadly I don’t think we’re getting any. It will be up to the modders if anyone cares enough to put that much work into it.
Aside from Halo 1 for 2001, Halo 4 for 2012 and Halo 5 for 2015, all other Halo games looked seriously outdated for me for the years they launched in.
..robust, great, flexible, gracefully…
The tech details sound like they’re selling make up products, lol.
pc native? lol
Robust = barebones
Regardless of the PR hype I note the conspicuous absence of any mention of them fixing the 30fps elements said, by Digital Foundry, to be hard-wired in Halo Combat Evolved’s engine which still exist in the Xbone release of Halo TMCC.
Beggars can’t be choosers. Just be happy you’re getting it.
Beggars get things for free. MS isn’t giving the TMCC away for free on PC. They are going to charge for it.
They are blessing you beggars with a game that was exclusive until now. Be glad you just have to pay money for it and didn’t have to give Phil Spencer a blow job.
He’s a self-confessed Sony console fanboy of scary proportions and is obviously feeling incredibly salty about this Microsoft console product making its way to Steam.
If I’m a Sony fanboy shouldn’t I be happy to see a Microsoft exclusive make its way to steam ? I thought fanboys love to see the “enemy” lose exclusives. Make up your mind.
There’s no “if” about it. You are. You number among the most mentally unhinged of console brand fanboys I’ve had the misfortune to encounter.
To your question, that would imply that imbecilic fanboys like yourself follow basic logic, have self-awareness and don’t constantly exhibit double standards and hypocrisy. Your worshipping of Sony is like a religion to you so you’re wilfully blind to such things.
By the way, Metal Gear Solid 4 is now booting with RPCS3.
‘By the way, Metal Gear Solid 4 is now booting with RPCS3.”
That’s fine lol. I played that 11 years ago when it was actually relevant. You can have our stale irrelevant crumbs as always lol. Maybe in 11 years you will also get to play God of War and Horizon Zero Dawn when the rest of us move on to something new and fresh.
The thing you don’t seem to understand is that yes, I’m a Sony fan. But also a PC fan, and a fan of everything video games. It’s not that I’m a Sony fanboy and hate everything else. It’s that I HATE PC fanboys who hate everything that’s not on their platform and think they are better when they are just as dumb as everyone else. So the only real fanboy here is you, my friend.
Still fanboying hard and creating your own imaginary alternative reality so to make yourself feel better, lol! Seek mental help.
It hurts, doesn’t it ? 🙂
Embrace the butthurt.
To repeat, you number among the most mentally unhinged of console brand fanboys I’ve had the misfortune to encounter. Your replies since are doing nothing other than reinforcing that.
If you’re not a lost cause already then hopefully you’ll grow out of this nonsense soon after your thirteenth birthday.

Further proving my point. gg

I think they’ve said that they’re looking into it while they’re working on an uncapped framerate option.
There’s no f*king way that MCC is going to be locked on 30FPS, unless they don’t want to get money for the game.
I’m really looking forwad to it, the last time I played Halo was on the original XBOX and Halo 2, but if it’s going to be 30FPS???? No f*king WAY I’m going to buy it.
This all sounds good. Now where’s Halo 3? 😉
