Last week, we informed you about a mod that could unlock the framerate in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. That mod relied on Steamless, a tool that could very well ban users from playing the game as PC gamers had to modify the executable file. Thankfully, modder ‘uberhalit’ released a new mod that can do the same thing without the need to modify any game files.
What this basically means is that this new mod is compatible with every game version and will not get you banned for using it. In other words, it is similar to pretty much all the other “safe” mods that have been released so far for Sekiro.
The “Sekiro Fps Unlock And More” mod removes the frame rate limit, adds custom resolutions with 21/9 widescreen support, increases field of view (FOV) (credits go to jackfuste who was responsible for the first FPS unlock mod) and adds a borderless window mode for Sekiro. This mod accomplishes the aforementioned tweaks by patching the game’s memory while running, and as we’ve already said it does not modify any game files.
Those interested can download the mod from here and you can find below its key features.
- Does not modify any game files, RAM patches only, works with all game versions
- GSYNC and FreeSync support for fullscreen and even in borderless window mode
- unlock frame rate (remove FPS limit) by setting a new custom limit or setting lock to unlimited
- add a custom resolution, 21/9 widescreen supported (will overwrite default 1920×1080 resolution, HUD limited to 16/9)
- increase field of view (FOV) (credits to jackfuste)
- set the game to borderless window mode
- automatically patch game on startup
- hotkey for patching while in (borderless) window mode
- seamlessly switch between windowed, borderless and borderless fullscreen

Used the mod works perfectly, that FOV fix was 100% needed thank God.
This game didnt have gsync and freesync support?> :O
It’s a japanese game.
Freesync has been working perfectly for me…
New mod
>Without modifying game files
?
Yea i wonder about that too. Could it be some kind of « injector » ?
It actually depends on what it does with gamefiles, if it doesn’t modify them it’s not a mod, it’s a configuration file, as it only touches setting of the game. But i somehow doubt they managed to do all those without even slightly modifying gamefiles.
Yes, doubt indeed.
The tool is open source, the author does not modify any game files, it hot-patches the game memory like it says on the mod page.
Literally says “RAM patches only,”
Meaning that it’ll modify the files on the fly in the RAM instead of modifying them on hard drive/ssd ?
I would call it a TRAINER though..
> G-Sync and FreeSync support
Now I might buy the game albeit FromSoftware should be ashamed of themselves for not having included such a staple feature. Even Bethesda aren’t that careless!
FromSoftware doesn’t give a sheet about PC gaming. Never has, never will
Asian guys apart from contemp. Capcom hardly do.
Capcom’s DMC 5 lacked the option to choose API (users have to edit the .ini file) and Resi 2 Remake’s menu borked indicating the correct amount of VRAM used.
I disagree. It’s not an amazing port, but it is still fine. They’re not the most technologically advanced company, sure, but that doesn’t mean they’re not putting in the effort.
Every game released on PC has gotten better and better each release. It’s clear they’re working their engine and adding to it.
Judging by the truly woeful performance of Sekiro on all consoles as shown by Digital Foundry then PC got a good deal relatively speaking!
PCs are generally more powerful than consoles, so not really a surprise…
is there any good tutorial out there on how to beat your meat?
Oh look, another game where the gamers are doing the developers job and guess what? The gamers are happy about it. This industry will always be Schitt. I was really looking forward to playing this game, but the more and more I see all these “mod fixes”, I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m officially turned off. Why release a full fledged product when you can have the “Useful Idiots” do it for you….
The game is fine as is, honestly. If this is all it takes you “turn you off”, then you weren’t really going to play it anyway.
I dont get why devs dont think about a “1st person zoom” in 3rd person games so much anymore. I’m ok with an FOV (and thankful to modders), but I dont want to play it like like an MMO. I want the cam to be right in the action during normal play (which is why I normally prefer 1st person perspectives usually), but when panning around trying to pick the best “ninja path” or find secret stuffs the damn cam goes right up Sekiro’s nostrils and it’s a bit frustrating – even with no enemies around.
A game that requires real world reflexes should have some compensating camera features because we would be reacting differently looking through Sekiro’s eyes. Even Kratos drove me nuts with his back covering half the screen while trying to look around for secrets, etc. Hell old school 3rd person games like Mario64 or OoT could zoom into “1st person” that was a stationary cam but you could look around the game world when needed.
I enjoy and appreciate looking at the character models in games but I wish we had something that could search around without setting the FOV like I’m in WoW.

I’m not fully sure, but can we call this a MOD ? Seems to behave more like a TRAINER though, ’cause trainers alter memory addresses, when the game is running. They work in the background.
But since the modder claims that this file is compatible with every game version, then we can call it a MOD of some sort, since trainers depend on the game’s version as well, though some trainers may work regardless of the game’s version/build.
This is the exact definition of how trainer works in games.
“A trainer is a program written to intercept and alter the memory addresses of games that are running in the background. Usually trainers contain such features as GOD MODE, Infinite Ammo, UNLIMITED LIVES and others that sometimes aren’t pre-programmed into the game by its designers.
The most important thing to remember about trainers is that they usually have to be running in memory the entire time the game is loaded. Closing out the trainer will usually cause the cheats to become disabled (until the trainer is loaded again). Since trainers address specific memory locations, they are usually written to only support a specific version of a game”.
My most knowledgeable man on the site coming in with the hot information!
