CD Projekt RED confirms that Cyberpunk 2077 will be present at E3 2019

CD Projekt RED has just confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 will be present at E3 2019. This obviously does not surprise us as the game was also present in the previous E3 event, though it was shown behind closed doors.

My guess is that this time the team will showcase a new gameplay demo from the game to the public and not only to journalists. Moreover, we can expect to get some new screenshots as well as new details about it (and perhaps a release date?).

From what we know so far, Cyberpunk 2077 will be a first-person open world, narrative-driven role-playing game set in the universe of the classic pen & paper RPG system, Cyberpunk 2020.

The game promises to feature dozens of hours of main story arc quests and many more of additional activities. Players will experience all of it entirely through V’s eyes, with an interactive dialogue system that gives them greater narrative agency.

Cyberpunk 2077 will be powered by the next iteration of the RED Engine, called REDengine 4, and targets current-gen platforms. Rumours suggested that the game would release this year, though this seems unlikely (in our opinion) and a 2020 release date seems more plausible.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. I just cannot wait foe this title. I hope they don’t rush it and do not lock content behind mindless loot crates or paid content etc.

    1. The previous time they changed the whole rendering method as a whole very late, so the whole game had to look different because of the consoles, but this time they won’t have excuses of a major downgrade so I doubt it’ll happen, only minor changes here and there.

      1. – MK11
        – DMC5
        – Grim Dawn: Forgotten Gods -> expansion
        – Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
        – Dying Light 2
        – Ori and the Will of the Wisps
        – World War Z
        – The Outer Worlds
        – LEFT ALIVE
        – Dead or Alive 6
        – SAMURAI SPIRITS
        – Atomic Heart
        – WRC 8
        – RAGE 2
        – A Plague Tale: Innocence
        – The Division 2
        – One Piece World Seeker
        – Generation Zero
        – Doom Eternal

This is just a small list there are a lot more, and I did not even hit up all the solid indie games that will be out this year.

        1. What do you mean by that? Besides, RAGE 2? The division 2? One piece world seeker? Seriously? Atomic heart in 2019? I hope so, but doesn’t sound like it.

          1. It’s just a list of potentially good games coming out this year. I was basically agreeing with you that Cyberpunk 2077 is not the only game to look forward to if that is what you meant with “DOOM”(which I assume you meant Doom Eternal).

          2. Isn’t ever game considered “decent piles of steaming sh*t” on DSO anyways. I guess I should not of posted a list to begin with.

My problem is sometimes I forget what site I am on when I post here.

          3. No, not really, it actually depends on the game. This site is frequented also by old school and pretty experienced videogamers, unfortunately few of them, but still…So it has actually a pretty high standard compared to most other sites.

          4. How on earth is rage 2 bad? Have you seen the last gameplay? Its like doom with bulletstorm but with open world and vehicle combat. World seeker looks fun like an open world game.

          5. Yeah and stupid characters and even worse story (i’m not even sure it can be called story at this point). The only thing looking cool about it is the shooting one, the rest is pretty garbage, and honestly it doesn’t look as good as DOOM’s one. Wanna talk about the stupid SJW stuff too? Better not please.

          6. Dont know what you mean about the stupid sjw stuff if you pay attention to the trailer the neoncolored thugs have lgbtq flags on them SO YOU GET TO SHOOT SJWS.

But as far as the story goes, we dont know how that will turn out.

          7. Doesn’t matter if they’re friends or enemies, the very fact is pretty bad itself.

    1. It looks like an even shittier Borderlands, and I didn’t think someone could make that franchise look any worse.

    1. Why would anyone want CDPR to distract themselves from making great RPGs to make a sequel to a shooter they have nothing to do with? How about CDPR make RPGs and leave the FPS’s to others.

        1. There is a massive difference between a first person action RPG and a first person shooter.
As for the IP Both the Witcher and Cyberpunk are not continuations of another developers series.
And screw having another RPG developer move to shooters. I mean look at how that’s worked out for BioWare.

          1. CD Projekt RED are talented enough to pull it off. The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077 could not be more different from each other. Also Half-Life 3 according to modern gaming standards will be expected to be much more than just a straight up pure linear FPS. The days of pure linear shooters with no light RPG mechanics are gone. Name me one recent AAA FPS that still does this.

          2. I am not saying they can’t. I am saying we’ve lost too many RPG developers. I love Half Life but I do not want another fkn shooter at the cost of RPGs. More RPGs less shooters.

          3. “Another Fkn Shooter”? There are way more Quality RPGs these days than there are Quality Single-Player FPS. And Half-Life 3 will not be just “Another Fkn Shooter” it will be “The Fkn Shooter”

          4. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

you’re living in a dream world! It’s attitudes like yours that have lead to the demise of the RPG genre. There are LITERALLY ZERO dedicated AAA RPG studios left apart from CDPR and you want them to make another fkn shooter. I do not care how good it would be. Obsidian maybe can be added now that they’re part of Microsoft, but up until then they were a large indie.

SP/Story Shooters coming out or already released just this year
            Far Cry New Dawn
            Metro Exodus
            Rage 2
            Atomic Heart
            Dying Light 2
            Doom Eternal
            GTFO
            Wolfenstein Youngblood
            Halo Infinite
            Serious Sam 4

How many big ticket single player RPGs are due in 2019
            The Outer Worlds
            Kingdom Hearts (JRPG)
            Shenmue III (JRPG)

There are a few action RPGs too, but that’s about it for “real” rpgs.

          5. Lets see:

Far Cry: New Dawn – FPS/RPG/Co-Op
            Metro Exodus – FPS/RPG
            Rage 2 – FPS/Light RPG
            Atomic Heart – FPS/RPG
            Dying Light 2 – FPS/RPG
            Doom Eternal – FPS/Light RPG
            GTFO – FPS/ 4 Player Co-Op
            Wolfenstein Youngblood – FPS/Light RPG/2 Player Co-Op
            Halo Infinite – ???
            Serious Sam 4 – FPS

            Thanks for proving my point.

          6. Having a few RPG components doesn’t make a game RPG. Pretty much none of those you listed cannot be considered RPG, and only some of them have a RPG component worth talking about.

          7. Just stop.

Putting in RPG elements doesn’t make a game an RPG.

            Far Cry – FPS
            Metro – FPS
            Rage – FPS
            Atomic Heart – FPS
            Dying Light 2 – FPS
            Doom – FPS 12000% fps
            Infinite – FPS
            Serious Sam 4 – FPS
            Youngblood – FPS

          8. RPGs are just not anymore where the money is at, because most nowadays videogame players enjoy fast and short videogames, whether it’s a battle royale or a card game (mostly hearthstone). RPGs are way too slow and long for them to enjoy, hence the poverty in that genre.

      1. If it was the same Starbreeze that made The Chronicles of Riddick I’d 100% support it… too bad the current day Starbreeze is but a shadow of it’s former self

    2. Why am I excluded from the picture? Why can’t I make Half-Life 3? Is it because I’m mixed-race. DON’T YOU SUPPORT INCLUSION?!!

    3. I’ve never understood these stupid comments.

“If x developer isn’t going to use their IP, let developer y [who has literally 0 experience making a game anything remotely like that game nor any evidence to prove they can make a good game in the first place] make the next game.”

CDPR doesn’t make interactive puzzle heavy first person shooters with quirky physics etc.

People used to and still do leave stupid comments like this all the time “Let Naughty Dog make x game.” I can’t remember the last one I saw, on GameFAQs somewhere, but it was ludicrous. Essentially something like “If MS isn’t going to make AoE 4 then let Naughty Dog do it.” WHAT?! I think it was like Jurassic Park or something.

Naughty Dog? Are you f’ing joking? They don’t make real games, they make on rails third person hallway shooters.

And no. CDPR are not good developers. Witcher 3 is not a good game, it’s just a very robust game as far as the amount of content in it. Not the variety, and not the quality of that content. They are “honest” developers, that’s about it. I bought two copies of Witcher 3, one on GOG and one on Steam, and I’ve played over 400 hours. It’s not that good of a game. Peoplke need to stop employing the cheerleader effect. Next to Witcher 1 which was trash and Witcher 2 which was way too small, Witcher 3 looks amazing. Next to the utter void of competing good 3rd person action RPGs, yea, Witcher 3 looks amazing. I’m sure a bottle of camel spit would look good in a desert too.

  2. Crap, thought they confirmed 2019 release for a second…
TBH one of those games I’m happy to wait until I’ve got a better GPU for — doubt a 1080ti will cut it at 4k!

  3. “…to the public and not only to journalists”

It’d certainly make good business sense for them to demo the game to the buying public given that games ‘journalists’ from the shill media nowadays are primarily concerned with how many ‘social justice’ tick-boxes are checked.

      1. Dude… It’s never enough for them.

“Why can’t i be transgender, disabled mercenary who f*ks dolphins????”

    1. Guilt-ridden white lib journalists are like, “bring the Asians and darkies in here to meet our inclusion quotas. Throw in a few mixed-race weirdos. We need some diversity, dammit! Stat!”
