InvictusVolition has released some new gameplay videos for its upcoming Unreal Engine 4-powered indie first-person shooter, Russia 2055. Russia 2055 looks absolutely incredible and the funny thing is that it is being created by a single person.
There have been some rumours suggesting that Hideo Kojima could be involved in this (Kojima simply shared a video for Russia 2055 but apparently that was enough to spark these rumours), however I’m pretty sure that this game has nothing to do with Kojima-san. Truth be told, Russia 2055 appears to be slightly influenced by the Metal Gear Solid games but there is nothing here suggesting that this is a Kojima game (especially since Kojima Productions is currently hard at work on Death Stranding).
But anyway, these new gameplay videos showcase some real-time cut-scenes, the single-player campaign that will be featured in it, the combat/helmet camera effects and some prone crawling animations.
We strongly suggest watching the videos as they look incredible. Now my biggest fear here is that this indie game could just be a demo featuring one big level and nothing more. So far, we’ve seen the same environment and enemies, so I’d be really disappointed if all we got was just a level with various enemies. I understand that a “real” game could take years to complete, however Russia 2055 appears to have a lot of potential to become a sleeper hit.
Enjoy!
😕Trying to make cutscenes that blend into gameplay smoothly. Since everything is in realtime i'd recommend a GTX 1060 or higher pic.twitter.com/1JCkJEIneY

Just another UE4 asset flip.
Using store bought assets while making a game is not asset fliping. Asset flipping is when you are straight up reseling asset packs as a game.
Assets are reused all the time, even in the biggest game. As long as they look right and the game is good, I don’t see an issue with them.
Sorry but where are the videos at? All I see are super compressed low quality Twitter gifs.
Only 1 gif dude.
Single person, please, it’d be a full time job just to make all the sound effects for that thing, I bet most of the stuff in there are pre-existing UE4 assets.
Single player or Multiplayer game ? First time hearing about this. If this is SP count me little bit interested but cautious.
The animations especially look too good for an unknown developer. Definitely something fishy in a good way is going on behind the scenes that we are not aware of.
If Kojima was somehow involved you’d see the captions reading “Created by Hideo Kojima” all over the videos. You’d actually be hard-pressed to discern anything behind those captions as they’d hinder your vision and make sure you know who’s solely responsible for this game.
Well kojima made basically one saga, and what would you expect? Of course you’ll find his name it’s not like he makes videogames every year, and metal gear solid is basically all kojima.
It’s good to know that one person is responsible for a retarded story in a game series that can’t seem to pick its tone and constantly shifts between whacky fiery whales and PTSD.
That’s his style, once you get to understand it, you’re only going to appreciate it.
Haha, so true. You’re brave to risk triggering Kojima fanboys because they’re nearly as precious as CD Projekt Red cheerleaders.
This game is more fishy than Cthulu, i bet this is like mgs v, that there is this moby d*ck studio working on this phantom pain game and it turns out to be mgs v, i cant believe this is made by one man, this is kojima trolling us again, this must be the intro to death stranding.
Couldn’t agree more. Makes perfect sense.
Russia 2055 = post-apo, war, machines
Sequel will be USA 2065 and it will look like this: 🙂

(thumbs up)
It reminds me this fake a*s trailer

Have to agree with you on this. Everything I saw from this game just looks like an render.
BUT! It may look this good simply because all models/textures/effects are bought, premade assets and only thing that one dev did was put them together.
I really wonder how will this all ends up. I followed him on twitter cause he said everyone who does so gets acess to alpha version. I wanna see that.
It was proven that the actual game has better graphics then the pre-rendered trailer.
Hideo Kojima did create some kind of secret studio before, I forget the name of it. We are actually seeing what looks like a game with this one though, theres no way this was made by a single person; it could be the real deal this time.
