A couple of days ago, we shared with you some videos showcasing what Resident Evil 2 Remake could have looked like with fixed camera angles. While such a mod has not been released yet, I’m happy to report that a beta version of a first-person mod is currently available for download.
Created by modder Praydog (who was inspired by and used code from Kanan), this mod will allow you to play Resident Evil 2 Remake with a first-person camera viewpoint. Do note that this mod is currently in beta version and there is some head bobbing effects that could annoy some players.
It’s a pretty cool proof of concept mod that we are pretty sure that some Resident Evil 2 Remake fans will enjoy. Ironically, Capcom experimented with a first-person mode for Resident Evil 2 Remake before deciding to use a third-person perspective so I guess this mod restores Capcom’s initial idea.
To be honest, a proper and official first-person perspective would be one of the coolest free DLCs, so here is hoping that Capcom will consider releasing such a thing.
But anyway, those interested can download the mod from here and below you can find some videos showcasing this first-person mode in action.
Have fun everyone!

Dang I was waiting for another article about enhancing textures in 90s games with the help of neural networks.
It’s really easy to scroll past those articles that you have no interest in, or maybe that’s to difficult for you?
Or maybe you feel like a keyboard hero by constantly whining about everything!
Also try some originality with your profile pic next time, instead of stealing the pic i made and posted a while ago.
If we were to scroll past those articles every time we wouldn’t be left with much honestly.
Then maybe this site is not for you anymore, go find something else.
No i don’t think so, it’s it’s just that PC gaming isn’t all about mods.
Lmao and who are you again? I took it from revolt’s forum and I’m pretty sure you didn’t make it. Very original Stiller avatar and name btw. Irony on the next level.
yeah i was disappointed too, no wait you are being sarcastic arent you?
Not the most intense game, perhaps this will make it more atmospheric.
The way it transitions smoothly in and out of cutscenes is really cool.
This is very cool but also very nauseating.
This is great. I prefer third person camera for survival horror but more than once I wished for a closer look at some of the highly detailed environments in this game, I’m definitely trying this out later, hopefully it has a quick toggle function, that would be perfect.
Hope modders are as quick with Cyberpunk 2077
False alarm!! False alarm!! (if you know what I mean)
damn it really makes the game scarier
With all the 1st vs 3rd arguing on the internet, I always wondered why devs don’t just include the choice of both in games where it doesnt specifically interfere with the devs’ vision. If the player is NOT doing a lot of 3rd person flips and jumps like with the Witcher series, or vice versa where the devs want interaction in your face in 1st person like with P.T it makes sense to have a perspective option for both. Because RE7 had it and I loved it as much as P.T.’s (and it was just as great to me as RE4’s 3rd person), I had hoped RE2 Remake would have had the options for both, especially for some of those tight rooms. Depends on my mood as to which I prefer to play in so having the option would have been nice.
If nothing else, very nice to get rid of the vignette with this mod. Hate with graphics get covered up. I want effects done by the graphics themselves, not ruined worked with post processing crap like CA, Blur, too much poorly done fog (layer of white haze), and all that other crap. No one sees the world like that, and no please dont imitate old cameras with failing intersecting colors, motion, or anything else for me.
I’ve actually been waiting on a 1st person mod to start playing this. When it comes to horror games, 1st person will ALWAYS be more immersive and scarier.
Can’t wait to try this out when I get off work.
