Control – Early Prototype versus E3 2018 Demo Comparison Video

Remedy has released a new comparison video between the early prototype version of Control and its E3 2018 build. This video showcases some of the artistic and gameplay changes that were made to the game, though we can see that Remedy knew from the start the type of game it wanted to create.

Control is a sandbox-style, gameplay-driven experience that promises to challenges players to master a combination of supernatural abilities, modifiable loadouts and reactive environments while fighting through the deep and mysterious worlds Remedy is known and loved for.

Control will be one of the first titles that will support real-time ray tracing and even though it shares some similarities with Remedy’s previous title, Quantum Break, it will be using a new physics middleware.

Naturally, the game will be using the Northlight Engine and it is currently planned for a 2019 release.

Enjoy!

  1. this was probably the most pointless video i’ve seen in a long while. they took quantum break’s engine and made another copy paste game with it and they captured some gameplay footage midway through development. like why?what’s the point of this video?all games go through different development phases. are they trying to imply their generic copy paste game is unique to go through these development phases because other games are magically made or what exactly?

  2. I don’t see the point of this. Also one could argue the early footage looks better in some ways. The final game only has two colors, blue and orange. It’s the same two colors you see in every movie and most games now. Prototype had more variety.

  3. One thing is always given with a Remedy game…visually they look great! In many cases, spectacular…
I also love their stories, especially Max Payne and Alan Wake
