F1 2018 and Battlefield 3 running in 8K on Max Settings on two NVIDIA Titan RTX GPUs

YouTube’s ‘Thirty IR‘ has shared two new videos, showcasing F1 2018 and Battlefield 3 running in 8K resolution on Max settings with more than 60fps. In order to achieve something like that, Thirty IR has used two NVIDIA Titan RTX graphics cards in SLI.

F1 2018 looks spectacular in 8K as there aren’t any jaggies that can distract players while playing. This racing game already looks great in 4K and some may say that there are diminishing returns when running it in 8K, however I’m pretty sure that some would enjoy running the game in such high resolutions.

On the other hand, I’m a bit disappointed with the gameplay footage of Battlefield 3. The game runs with more than 60fps in 8K on Max settings, however the footage that was captured was from a multiplayer mode. I strongly believe that the single-player mode looks better and it would be awesome to have some of the missions in 8K (the fly mission or the desert mission would be awesome in 8K).

But anyway, as I’ve already said I really enjoy watching these videos. 8K gaming is currently very expensive but it is at least possible, something that really blows my mind (as I thought it would take us a few more years until the best high-end systems could run modern-day games in 8K with 60fps).

Enjoy!

  1. How is this relevant to anyone? using 2 cards that 99.99% of gamers cannot not even afford 1 of.
Maybe dont waste your time on sh*t like this?

Headline should read: Game runs insane on machine you’ll never be able to afford. Shocking no one.”

    1. And what about the people that are interested? We have to read ignorant comments like yours every time. 99% of people can’t afford top end sports cars but it doesn’t stop people watching Grand Tour.

      1. Anyone that is interested is a fool for thinking this is something they really need. its a gimmick and a fools errand to chase after this. 8K may be relevant in about 15 to 20 years from now, but at this stage of the game. No even close.

        1. Oh STFU, you think you’re so entitled, stop thinking you can control articles and then fill the comment section with your toxic comments, but no being the troll you’re you can just ignore the article and move on, you have to attack people for their views.

          1. Yeah what a crybaby 😀 Pathetic how some people find ways to complain over anything. He even confuses 8K resolution with 8K textures. What a piece of work!

          2. Cry more as well, I know you will, waaaaah, wahhhh I don’t like this article it triggers me, I need to make a moronic comment and I don’t care because I’m on the interwebs.

          3. Cry more as well, I know you will, waaaaah, wahhhh I don’t like this article it triggers me, I need to make a moronic comment and I don’t care because I’m on the interwebs.

        2. You’re wrong. Even at 4K on my 23,6″ (which is very high PPI for a 4K monitor) I strive for more details and/or higher rez. Because I get obvious visible jaggies and noisy/pixelcrawling in vegetation and I can see a clear difference between native 4K and 4K+SGSSAA or if I use levels of DSR compared to native.

          1. Still, running 4K with TAA or SMAA is still far behind 4K + DSRx2 or SSAA, especially for shader-aliasing, vegetation and small detail. The difference between you and me, is that I speak out of my own experience. I saw a similar test done by LTT, they were comparing console vs PC in Far Cry 4, i.e 30 FPS to 60 FPS, console graphics vs PC maxed out, and most people couldn’t tell the difference. So judging by that, people just doesn’t know what to look for. By the way, stop comparing computer monitors to TV’s. Try using windows on a 4K TV sitting from afar. It works for gaming and movies yes, but that’s about it.

I agree though, 8K is still several years away, doesn’t mean its not needed. if I had a 8K monitor and a GPU that could run games in 8K 60 FPS, it would be a nice upgrade over my current 4K setup. I wouldn’t need AA, SSAA or DSR and image quality would be nearly perfect.

          1. Also, what games are going ot support 8K? Cant even image the developers even contemplating hiring people just to sit around making 8K Textures. It wont happen for a very long time.

      2. And, we have to read ignorant comments like YOURS every time here on dosg. You are welcome.

Get a life, and have some common sense. 8K gaming is far out of each. I can easily afford such a high-end setup, but I better invest my money in something else. 8K won’t do any magic to your eyes.

        1. What ?

NOPE. It is not.. I don’t even know who that guy is…Jeez ! Get a life man…I can’t control who up-votes me or not. It is upon the user/member, if he/she likes my post…

        2. HAHAHA, look at you, all you do is attack people, you can’t even accept someone else’s opinion, get the f*ck out of here, no wonder you keep your comments private. you’re just a bunch of trolls ready to jump on such comments with multiple accounts.

          1. This is the great thing about the block button, its’ reserved for tw*ts and trolls.

          2. Stop projecting little c*nt and get off your dads PC with multiple private accounts

        3. Dude, just shut the hell up! Noone is interested in you whining your a$$ over others opinions or preferences. Even if a person can’t afford 8K, they can still be interested in it, and want to see it.

          1. Calm down, Oscar. That guy rants every time someone criticizes dsog article….I agree with your point though, but I just intentionally wrote that comment.

Let’s delete our comments, shall we ? I don’t want to create any fight.

      3. Yup, I think you have a valid point when you said, “99% of people can’t afford top end sports cars but it doesn’t stop people watching Grand Tour””.

Totally agree on that point….Makes sense…..I have removed my previous comment though. My apologies for all the misunderstanding this whole issue. Sorry if I sounded harsh, and/or overreacted……

      5. Yup, I think you have a valid point when you said, “99% of people can’t afford top end sports cars but it doesn’t stop people watching Grand Tour””.

Totally agree on that point….That indeed makes sense…..I realize it now.

I have removed my previous comment though. My sincere apologies for misunderstanding this whole issue. Sorry if I sounded harsh/rude, and/or overreacted with you or any other forum member under this topic…….

    2. Are you mental? The cards here are RTX Titans. Not 2080Ti’s. These are £2,400 each (2800 euro). These are the extreme end of the market. Not only that this is using 2 of them. That’s 5600 euro just for the graphics cards. So my point stands. So no you’re wrong. This is coming from a gamer with a cutting edge machine rocking a RTX2080Ti. Please don’t comment if you do not know what you’re talking about.

      1. ****POST EDITED*****.

No hard feelings for anyone…Some misunderstanding here…My bad.

Also, one more thing. This Titan RTX GPU isn’t meant for gamers as claimed by Nvidia. These aren’t going to target the gaming/consumer section. Nvidia has made this very clear from the start.

These are more like professional/HPC/compute sector cards, IMO.

      2. As a person who loves technology and PC equipment, I don’t have a problem. Does that mean a average car lover isn’t interested in articles about Ferraris then? The logic in the comment section is flawed, do these same people go around sh*tting on articles where they can’t afford such products? Your point is flawed.

      3. I think you live in a fantasy world. Being in a position to buy something does not make that thing reasonably affordable. You can buy 2 2080Ti’s for less than the cost of a Titan.

No sane person would EVER buy a Titan unless they have an income far exceeding what you’re quoting. Why? Because the money to buy these cards is essentially being thrown away.

The cost to performance is so grossly out of line that 99.99% of people will not buy them. Cannot afford to buy them. Which is my whole point. Titan’s are not gamer cards, they’re not even enthusiast cards, they’re luxury cards and make no sense to buy for anyone except those at the very top end of the earning scale.

Are you a child? Because that is the only reason I can see for such shallow reasoning. You lack of common sense is astounding.

        1. He’s just contradicting himself, this is a guy who brought a 2080Ti which is at the very top end, he’s just virtual signalling for lower end GPU owners. He also says nothing of the downsides of SLI.

        2. You supposed to have knowledge yet you miss one glaring fact and that is not everyone wants SLI and it’s not supported by every game, and scalability issues, it has downsides, a Titan on that is reason enough, best single card performance is more relevant than ever with the downturn of SLI.

Titans are not gaming cards? LOL please stop, the original Titan was sold on not so much a gaming card because of it’s double precision performance. the Titan cards are every much a game card as a 2080Ti for goodness sake.

    3. “How is this relevant to anyone? using 2 cards that 99.99% of gamers cannot not even afford 1 of”

Maybe people are just interested in sh*t like this and like to watch the best of the best perform in different games. Your comment doesn’t make much sense. People are paying to watch dragster go head to head on a strip to break records in acceleration. Doesn’t mean they can or even want to afford a dragster themselves.

      1. So an arbitrary benchmark is now somehow comparable to a competition? Interesting.
Again these benchmarks are moronic. Have ZERO relevance to any gamer, or even an enthusiast.

        1. It’s not about comparisons or benchmarking. It’s purely for entertainment and showing how the most powerful system performs and how games look in 8K. It doesn’t need to be relevant or comparable to the rather low standard that PC gaming is, that’s not the point of those videos. It’s like that with everything extreme, people watch it because they’re interested, they like to be amazed, scared, disgusted or surprised. Why do you think there are extreme compilations on YouTube with millions of views? Why do you think there is a Guinness book of world records with large vivid pictures? People are drawn to the unknown the extreme and to the outsiders, it’s human nature to be curious in such things.

        2. Were you saying the same thing about 4K back in 2007 then? We can play Crysis in 4K now but by your logic you wasn’t interested in your 2080Ti because who’d pay $1000 for a GPU hey, oh wait, you did.

    4. Do you even realize how stupid/dumb as S*** you sound ? You haven’t got idea what you are talking about.

Keep you personal BS with you as always, scumbag.

  2. When a game requires two of the most expensive cards on the planet to run and a monitor that’s outrageously expensive. That’s when 8K is a tech that is not needed. 4K is more than enough for anyone, and to argue it’s not is plain lunacy.

Anyone foolish enough to spend that kind of money just so they can brag about it deserves to get ripped off. As they say a fool and their money are always easily departed with.
