In its latest financial report, Capcom revealed that it will consider releasing more remakes and remasters for its older IPs. This could open the door for a remake of Dino Crisis (because everyone loves dinosaurs right? Right?).
As Capcom claimed when an investor asked about Resident Evil 2 Remake:
“This title is one of our major Consumer releases for this fiscal year, and accordingly we expect it to be in the “million-seller” class of titles. It was received very well at E3, and in order to tie this first success to actual sales we are working out our promotional strategy. Further, regarding remakes and rereleases of titles in our back catalog, we expect to explore these further with a variety of properties as a part of our strategy to utilize our library of IP.”
Moreover, Capcom stated that while the base story and setting did exist, it has made the most of our cutting-edge game development environment to re-create the content. Furthermore, the team is developing it with a budget appropriate for a Resident Evil title targeting the global market.
Resident Evil 2 Remake releases on January 21st!

Would love to see Onimusha 😀
I still like to replay dino crisis 1-2 from time to time, and I wish to play remasters in the future. Right now in order to enjoy these games I have to use old SD CRT tv for my psx games because HDTV or PC monitors totally exaggerates all imperfections and makes 320×240 2D backgrounds look blurry and pixelated. With dino crisis remasrers all people and especially younger gamers would be able experience these great games.
There’s a PC version exist and it can run in 800×600 or more…
Yes I know about PC version, although you can easily run all psx games at very high resolution thanks to emulation but the 2D background textures were created in 320×240 resolution, so you will end up with upscaled, pixelated and extremely blurry picture anyway no matter what resolution you will choose. I have played dino crisis games on PC and on emulator, and only CRT these games looks good. Not only 2D backgrounds looks sharp and clean but also low resolution hide imperfections to the point even extremely low poly character models looks convincing. On SD CRT TV I really enjoy looking at these games even today while on high resolution LCD screen these games looks ugly as hell.
yeah and a proper dino crisis 3
Most people didnt liked dino crisis 3 but I have really enjoyed it. Combar is very difficult unlike previous dino crisis games. Also dinosaurs and level design was interesting. IMO dino crisis 3 was great but totally dofferent game compared with first two dino crisis.
” Also dinosaurs and level design was interesting.”
Cant say that either of those was interesting, quite generic and repetitive actually.
IMO Bosses design was spectacular, and I also liked spaceship atmosphere.
Dino 3 was a mess, with dinos that didn;t look like dinos, like this photo shows.
That’s the thing, you are trying to compare it to previous dino crisis games. Dino Crisis 3 featured totally different dinos, and atmosphere so game like that no longer can be compared with previous dino crisis game. Based on gamespot user reviews, people either dont like it (and most people didnt like it, because it’s not true sequel people wanted to see), or love it (myself included because it’s still very good game despite drastic changes). Many people rate dino crisis 3 around 8/10, 9/10, some even 10/10.
Yeah, i’m not saying its a bad game, but is more like alien game than dino game.
Well considering how epic RE2 remake and DMC5 look I can only imagine what a new Dino Crisis would look like! Also Dino Crisis remakes like RE2 would be epic. Maybe even do the Onimusha series while your at it too 🙂
I would love to see a resident evil 4 remake. Remasters just aren’t cutting it these days.
How about no. Resident Evil 4 has been re-released like 17 times and has a third party remaster far superior to the official remaster .It literally does not need nor does it merit a remake nor does Shinji Mikami, the only reason RE4 was a good game, work at Capcom.
I think dino crisis is strongest candidate along with RE3 since the graphics need enhancement…
saw some RE2R gameplay, it looks awesome
Yea. Turn them all into ugly black-ish hued games with self serious nonsense. Poor Leon’s face! Damn DMCV, fckn RE7. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Please don’t. The only other thing anyone wants is Onimusha HD Trilogy and you’ll do that wrong too. RE2 remake is already a 90% chance of being trash from what we’ve seen.
Most of your comments is already 100% chance of being trash from what we’ve seen…
The obvious conclusion from this info is that Resident Evil 3 remake is coming in some form (full game or expansion) since it shares the same assets as RE2 in terms of story, setting, zombies, monsters, etc
RE 4 is already being remastered. 5 and 6 look good as it is. So 3? What else is there to remaster? They cant seriously remaster 4 when the mod exists. That mod will probably put them to shame too, if they ever had to remaster it.
RE3 or CV though are the only options.
What they should do is redo Outbreak, now that the technology exists. That game was way too far ahead of its time to be released on PS2. You literally couldn’t communicate with your teammates after the game started – only in the lobby – except by spamming pre-recorded audio clips like “Help me, dammit!”
If they redid those games with VoIP and RE engine they would be straight up awesome.
