SuperData Arcade has shared its monthly report, claiming that thanks to a Steam sale, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sold 4.7 million units on PC in June, up significantly from May and only second to its peak month in October 2017.
Moreover, SuperData claimed that The Crew 2 sold 700,000 digital units across Console and PC at launch, and that over 800,000 PC players purchased the new “Seasons” expansion for The Sims 4 in June, making it the game’s second-most successful expansion after November’s “Cats and Dogs”.
Here are the key notes from SuperData’s report:
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds gets huge bump from Steam sale. PUBG sold 4.7 million units on PC in June, up significantly from May and only second to its peak month in October 2017. Growth was underpinned by a reduced price point of $19.99 on Steam.
- The Crew 2 sells 700,000 digital units across Console and PC at launch. The Crew 2 fell far short of Far Cry 5‘s impressive launch earlier this year but digital sales eclipsed those of the original The Crew due to the shift away from physical sales.
- The Sims 4 is still going as strong as ever. We estimate that over 800,000 PC players purchased the new “Seasons” expansion for The Sims 4 in June, making it the game’s second-most successful expansion after November’s “Cats and Dogs”. This is especially impressive considering The Sims 4 is approaching its fourth year.
- Call of Duty: WWII trajectory outpaces Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare but lags Call of Duty: Black Ops III. WWII’s additional content revenue was up significantly compared to IW’s last year due to a new DLC release, but it still could not match BOIII’s “Zombies” DLC sales last June, despite BOIII being in its second year at the time.
Last but not least, you can find below the world’s most popular digital games across PC, console and mobile for June 2018.

wow…..MMO WOT still in the top ten list for years….. ^^
The top selling games regardless of platform are mostly multiplayer games(most of which are infested with microtransaction)*sigh* and then gamers wonder why publishers chase after multiplayer games.
And it just blank image in my browser…
Vocal minority people might hate multiplayer games. But the charts say otherwise. Can’t really blame companies like EA for going where the money is.
Pretty sure most people don’t care if EA goes where the money is. It’s all the other publishers following suit that worries them.
Would anybody genuinely miss EA garbage? I can’t imagine many would.
I dont miss anything from EA but Dragon Age, aside from that, they have been 5h1tty also in their single player games.
I do wonder how many of those sold for PUBG were previously banned cheaters having to buy a new copy.
Pretty sure most of them, devs doesnt care about stopping cheaters in the act, cause it means new copies to be sold. They leave cheaters to ruin everyone the experience, banning them later, then more copies sold.
mostly normies and tards buy into these online only cash-grabs
though considering these graphs i’m not surprised why everything is so cancerous
when money is involved, art no longer becomes art
it becomes a tool.
4.7 Million suckers getting handed by a sh-tty dev team in Blue Hole. How absolutely pathetic. Streamers have made that nonsense trash game into a mainstream circlejerk at this point. I despise twitch with a passion for what they have brought upon PC Gaming by making it that popular.
I didn’t spend money on my copy of PUBG, I played it for about 10 hours, gave up because it’s quite frankly garbage and moved on back to Quake Champions which is actually a fun game that requires real skill to excel at in any sort of real fashion.
how much do you think it would have sold for it it was $60.
3rd highest: PUBG
6th highest: Fortnite
Yet the narrative being pushed at the big name gaming sites plus the likes of Jim Sterling is that Fortnite has been wiping the floor with PUBG these past few months. Hmm…
how much would it have sold for if it was $60 same for fortnight if they charged would it be as popular?
700K morons that like to toss their money into aether. lol
Buying digital is simply beyond stupid, but really now, look at the era we live. The marketing tactics and customer base, are like peanut butter and jelly at this point.
This is the beginning of the end.
but since steam spy dont rleeases sales numbers now how super data knows each game sales numbers on steam?
