Metroid Prime looks absolutely gorgeous in this incredible Unreal Engine 4 fan remake

YouTube’s ‘MilkyMax’ has shared a video, showing his fan remake of Metroid Prime in Unreal Engine 4. As MilkyMax claimed, this is a reimagining of the amazing atmosphere of the opening hours of Metroid Prime in Epic’s engine. And it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Unfortunately, and contrary to CryZENx’s fan remakes in Unreal Engine 4, this project is not available to the public. And this is sad because I’m pretty sure everyone would love to experience this Metroid Prime fan project, even if it’s just a walking simulator in its current state.

From the looks of it, MilkyMax has ported the HUD and the weapon model from Metroid Prime, and recreated the game’s levels in Unreal Engine 4 (using UE4’s assets). The end result is great and can give you an idea of what you could expect from a faithful remaster/remake of Metroid Prime in a modern-day engine for current-gen systems.

Enjoy!

  1. UE4 could make my balls look realistic, instead of the shriveling, dangly abominations they are in reality. Add in some chromatic aberration and VR support and I’d feel like a man again.

  2. I’m surprised no developers have made a Metroid Prime clone yet. There is definitely a market on PC for it.

  3. Very cool, too bad the Switch was not double it’s hardware specs. Wonder how 4 will look like in comparison?

      1. Nintendo does amazing things with limited hardware. All their titles look twice as good as what anyone else is doing with the Switch.
        Hopefully this won’t disappoint.

  4. Looks really stunning. Metroid Prime is one of those games that makes me feel quite nostalgic every time I see it or hear the soundtrack. The GameCube era was one of my favs, had the most fun playing games during that time. Compared to now it’s night and day.
