Team Cherry has announced that its 2D atmospheric adventure game, Hollow Knight, has sold over one million copies on the PC platform. Hollow Knight features a huge-interconnected world with fluid combat and tight responsive control and has Very Positive reviews on Steam.
As Team Cherry’s Ari Gibson told Kotaku:
“Hollow Knight’s success has in large part been driven by it’s many fans on PC, with the game having now sold over 1 million copies for Windows, Mac & Linux (crossing that mark just 1 day before the Nintendo Switch launch)
We’ve never publicly mentioned hitting the million mark on PC, so that is another big milestone! We hit that 3 weeks ago and it kinda flew under our radar because of the madness around E3/Switch launch.”
Hollow Knight currently comes with a 34% discount, meaning that you can get it for only 9,89€. This offer will end in six hours, so make sure to get it while you still can!

Beautiful game. Definitely deserves every penny.
They more than deserve those sales, it’s one of the best games to come out this decade. And the $10 I spent on it gained me over 40 very fun hours of gameplay, the value is insane.
Good news on the sales, but like what already happened after the witch release, it’s news is going to be drowned out by Switch sales talk…
Honestly this was one of the best i played Metroidvania since Symphony of the Night. The amount of content and quality for the amount of price asked for is just mind bogling for me,and still after all that, it recieved 2 free DLCS with a 3º announced in what it looks like to be the biggest amazing Devs.
It’s been out a hardly a month on Switch though…
Fancy seeing you here
I’m here all the time 😀 I just don’t comment often, that ‘s all.
I am and I mainly stick to it since it does provide the news that I want to know about upcoming games
Love this game! Much deserved and would love to see many more metroidvanias. I will buy them all!
Dude, it’s been out for 1 month and it already hit 1/4th the sales that the PC hit in 16 months. I strongly prefer the PC over the Switch, and think the console has more than it’s share of faults. That said, there’s no doubt the port had helped the devs immensely and the game is a perfect fit for that platform. Only fanboys cheerlead for sales of their platform vs another platform.
I agree that any fanboy will twist themself into a pretzel to put their platform ahead. I just think it’s crazy to discount 250,000 sales in 1 week, especially for indie game made by 3 people.
Get lost you pathetic troll. The game has only been out for a month on Switch so yes they are impressive numbers especially for a game that has been out on other platforms for a while.
For comparison the PC sales after one month were only 40,500. It took 4 months for PC sales to reach 250,000
You’re a moron.
NOTHING about your comments are logic. You’re comparing the sales of a game that’s been out for one month on the switch against a game that has been out for a year on PC.
You got called out thrice because you were being stupid. Myself, Articuno and DrearierSpider. Just be a man and admit your mistake or is your ego too big?
Oh 2 replies you must have been really triggered. 🙂

One of the best 2-3 metroidvania ever made, period. You can tell that these devs are gamers that enjoy making games that they’ d play themselves.
