2K Games will shut down Evolve’s dedicated servers on September 3rd

2K Games has announced that it will shut down the dedicated servers for Evolve on September 3rd. As such, several game features will no longer be available, such as Hunt (Ranked), leaderboards, and the in-game store. Moreover, Stage 2 will no longer be available on PC.

However, this does not mean though that the game will not be playable as peer-to-peer multiplayer will still be available in Legacy Evolve. Moreover, on July 2nd, 2K games will remove all virtual currency bundles from Evolve Stage 2 and they will no longer be available for purchase.

As said, the free-to-play PC version, Evolve Stage 2, will not be available from September 3rd onward. In order to access Legacy Evolve, you’ll need a copy of the F2P version so we strongly suggest acquiring it if you are remotely interested in it.

Last but not least, here is how you can access Legacy Evolve:

  • Right-click Evolve in Steam and select “Properties”
  • Go to the “Betas” tab
  • In the dropdown, select “legacyevolve – The Original Evolve Product”
  • Click “Close”
  • Wait for the game to download the differences
  • Enjoy Legacy Evolve

    1. Well . This was a good game . “WAS” until the pubisher F it up with DLC and s**t and after they damage controll it with evolve stage 2 what is just evolve free to play ppl could not play propely cuz new ppl ware dumb kids who cant do teamwork. . . .
The concept was good . had fun while it lasted . . . .( first 3 weaks )

    1. We will see this kind of thing more and more.. sadly. Games are like food now. They dont last forever. You eat it, you enjoy it and you move on to ur next meal.. meh.

        1. I feel like some games do 😀 At least for as long as i will be alive, which is forever for me ;p Plus there is chess… the game of the ages.

I think StarCraft and Warcraft might actually be around in 20 years, but i dont know if thats the case for any of the online only games. They barely last 2-5 years..

          1. Well, actually you have a lot of online only games that are out for more than a decade and still kicking: World of Warcraft, Counter Strike, Dota , LoL, Quake 3… But there are also even more games that do have a single player mode, but are clearly focused on online play, which is the mode that actually makes people stick around, like all of the Battlefield games, Call of Duty, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and so on…

Single player games can be memorable, but so can the online ones, if not more. I’m nostalgic of all the great time I had playing Diablo 2 and Guild Wars 1 online, those were the best days and games…

    2. This game was a turd at the start, has nothing to do with it being multiplayer only. Good multiplayer games still have people playing and servers hosted from the 90’s.

  1. I remember about the concept being cool and after seeing gameplay i was hooked but did not buy it because it was online only,i did the right choice because the dev messed it up with the dlc’s…too bad going free to play did not save it

  2. I’m not going to lie, I literally had no idea this game was even still around. I thought they shut the servers down years ago.

  4. Asymmetrical games are too niche to survive on the market.

Friday the 13th: The Game will be the next to shutdown.

  5. You’re just not confident, it’s part of your own personal issues you need to get sorted out before you make another comment.

    1. Dude you are one of the biggest idiots on this site, which is saying a lot. This site is full of idiots.

  6. I think 2K was the one who killed the game with its usual greedy tactics: selling an overpriced bare-bones games and then selling the rest in a myriad of DLCs. That is how they manage to ruin every game they touch.
