Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has sold 500K units in less than a week

Fatshark today announced that Warhammer: Vermintide 2 has surpassed 500,000 units sold just days after being released on PC. As the team revealed, 204 million minutes have been watched on Twitch and 50 billion enemies have been killed.

Martin Wahlund, CEO at Fatshark, said:

“We are proud and happy that gamers worldwide have taken Warhammer: Vermintide 2 to their hearts. 500,000 games sold was a milestone that we had, but not less than a week after release.”

Vermintide 2 is described as a visually stunning and ground breaking melee action game pushing the boundaries of the first person co-op genre. Set during the apocalyptic End Times of the Warhammer world – the game introduces the dark, bloody and twisted Chaos as an enemy faction. Other new features include 15 hero careers, new environments, talent trees and the proprietary Heroic Deeds System.

    1. I like first person melee combat a lot. My problem is, despite how everyone else feels, I think Vermintides combat is awful.

It doesn’t feel like it has weight or impact. The sounds for swinging and hitting are below average and it’s just a poor experience. I mean, Dark Messiah had better first person melee combat 11 years ago! Even Age of Chivalry the HL2 mod did.

      1. I had the exact same problem with the first one. It was just badly animated and felt like swinging a sword and Rats were just dying even though I didn’t make contact. I can say that the 2nd game fixes that and has very satisfying melee combat.

    2. Every class has a long range attack(gun, bow, cross bow, and bombs) and if you play as the Mage aka Bright Wizard you can play long range almost the whole time(you have no ammo for the flame staffs you just have to watch your over heat meter so you don’t explode).

  1. majority pre-ordered it, i liked the first verminitde but gameplay got repetitive really fast, this one is very sxy to look at, some of it’s locations are the best i’ve ever seen in a video game, they’re mesmerizing, combat is improved and it’s more fun than previous title. i definitely recommend this, although this is one of those games that you have to play with friends, many people with down syndrome play this game at the moment.

  2. so the left 4 dead clone sequel is a massive success?
looks at the price tag “oh it’s 30$”
    now i get it

  3. Just wanted to say I have been playing this game a lot on my PC and I love it! The PC port is incredible and it has a solid DX12 path that runs mega fast and like butter and looks sexy while doing it(DX11 is in too).

Game play is really awesome I like it a million times better than Left4Dead 2 or any other game in that genera.

The ARPG light system is really epic you gain XP from kills have three talent trees to mix the points in and you can change them at anytime too which is really nice no penalty. Solid loot system and this time around you have a Hero skill that builds up like Destiny 2. Each class has there variations so there is a lot to play and try. Solid crafting as well it is very well done and addictive.

The content is pretty massive there are a lot of diff maps and and you have different difficult settings too which are brutal. Each map has multiple paths and are huge. The combat is top notch and the skill required to play is really rewarding you can not just Rambo the game at all.

Anyways I could on and on how much I love, totally worth checking out if you at all like L4D2 and dig the Warhammer universe and RPG light stuff. One more thing the game is 100% a DX12 showcase and has proper multi core scaling too, so if your into that thing too it is worth it.
