    1. And no “player choice” patented manipulation or loot GAMBLING crap. Agreed on performance and loved all the content I got for the price. They sold us what was advertised, with no scheming discovered.

I will most likely be picking up #2 on day one.

  1. Im quite enjoying Surge, and while Dark Souls games didnt manage to win me over, thos game has.
Maybe its the scifi setting, whoch is cool armor and weapons, the level design and texturing, even the ok story behind it. I guess the package is strong.

My only gripe is the lack of Objectives screen and that of a Map. Yeah the exclusion of a Map module is pretty harsh imo.

Although with the tons of backtracking and “corpse running”, you eventually come to familiarise pretty much with each level .

      1. The last lvl os cancerous because of all the Black Cerberous roaming around.
Otherwise its not really complex at all. Im at Nucleus, 2nd lvl myself. Taking it slow. All the dieing is an exercise to my patience.

    1. Dark Souls series was a blast to play cooperatively with my brother. Since we finished DS3 we have been waiting for something similar to play together again. I liked the first the surge and was hoping that the sequel would have coop…same thing with lords of the fallen.

  2. Never played Lords of the Fallen or The Surge, but Deck 13 seems to be a flawed yet fairly solid middle market developer that continues to improve with each release. Hopefully this is the game that really stands out as great for them.

    1. I can honestly say to give The Surge a shot. Being a “souls-snob” i gave The Surge a pretty decent recommendation. Its not as deep or intricate as DS but its not trying to be. For what it set out to do, it did it well and it runs very well on most hardware.

  3. Necromorphs or Binary Domain robots would be the perfect enemies for the limb targeting system. They did put an enemy like that but it didn’t worked out as great as those games did…

    1. Well there is a dark souls like game that looks like dead space, its called hellpoint, there is a demo you can try

      1. Looks like standard Dark Souls with sci-fi facepaint(kinda look dumb sci-fi with sword and shield), no tactical dismemberment with enemies changing tactics/behaviour like Dead Space or Binary Domain.

  4. Horrible game, even Lords of the fallen didn’t suck as much as the surge
i’m actually suprised they consider it a success
a 100K sales so far? that’s rather pitiful.
