First official trailer released for Overkill’s The Walking Dead, release date set for Fall 2018

505 Games, OVERKILL and Starbreeze Studios have released the first official trailer for Overkill’s The Walking Dead. This trailer introduces us to Aidan, the game’s first playable character. However, this is just a CGI trailer and not a gameplay trailer.

The good news here is that 505 Games and Starbreeze Studios aim to release Overkill’s The Walking Dead in Fall 2018. As such, we’ll be getting more and more trailers until then. And screenshots. And a beta perhaps?

Overkill’s The Walking Dead is a co-op first-person shooter with elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth. The game will invite players to explore the hugely popular The Walking Dead universe, where they will play the role of survivors fending for themselves in a post-apocalyptic world dominated by flesh-eating walkers.

It’s also worth noting that the game will be powered by Epic’s Unreal Engine.

Enjoy!

  1. Wish they had actually created this in-engine…CGI trailers are cool to watch but say nothing about the actual game!

  2. wow. talk about ununderstanding the source material.
    also
games about killing zombies. because there are never enough of them!

    1. Yep, the SJW appeasement in video games and TV series is on Cosmic Levels in 2017, im getting tired of this BS.

      1. Gotta keep ’em all white eh? Screw representing minorities. Hell, this original character shouldn’t even be black! Like wtf! It’s white or nothing god damnit. /s

It’s sad that you mask your racism with your dislike of manufactured “SJW appeasement”.

        1. Its a matter of 2 things:
          1. Business
          2. Fairness
Business: These games are made in countries with white majorities and most gamers are white and they have the most buying power.
Games ARE NOT political tool and here comes the SJW part: Your kind sees EVERYTHING, be it video games, movies, books, TV series as Agitprop. Spreading the “message”, “Representation”
No such things in Entertainment thats why people sensitive to SJW issues, you been trained to ignore them, we cant ignore them.
The first thing you said “presentation”, thats training.
No such thing as representation in art and entertainment, when you try to “represent” you turn art&Entertainment into Political tools and white wash history.
Fairness: I dont see anyone of your kind asking for “representation” from non Western devs: Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Latin American, African whatever
Its OK for Chinese to have a game with all Chinese cast, but god forbid if any game comes from Europe/USA/Canada without Asians and Africans.
Polygon was moaning about lack of minorities in Polish game based on polish historical period. Witcher 3

          1. My kind? You don’t know a single thing about me so don’t refer to me or group me with rabid SJWs. I usually keep myself out of racially-charged debates because most of the time, I simply don’t care.

My issue is with your sadly opportunistic jab at an original friggin’ character’s race. You want him to be white and based on what you said, you’re justifying it with “fairness”. Media representation shouldn’t always appeal to the majority group. People in the minority group also watch movies and TV shows.

Also, non-white ethnic groups represent a significant portion of the Canadian population. How do I know this? I live in Canada. Over here, we don’t have issues with people of different races being represented in various forms of entertainment.

You seriously need to re-evaluate why you’re pushing back against better representation of minorities. There’s no threat to “whites”. I don’t like SJWs but I despise closeted racists.

          2. I don’t know what’s sadder. How stupid you are or how you don’t even realize how wrong you are.

Entertainment has for a fact always contained social and political messages.

          3. Thats a complete lie.
There is huge difference between having something made from get go about social issues and Injecting propaganda into game/tv series that has nothing to do with that.

  3. Nice! I can’t wait.

We also get State Of Decay 2 and World War Z next year, seems like it could be the year of the Zombies(especially if Dead Island 2 and Dying Light 2 happen as well), good times.

  4. Yeah, I hope your wrong too. Keeping my fingers crossed, please be good.

Well there is always State of Decay 2, World War Z, Witchfire and GTFO. So if it sucks we will live 🙂 , also who knows what else will be at E3.

    1. GTFO is literally made by the Payday 2 developer. If your goal is to avoid Payday 2 type crap, GTFO shouldn’t be on the list.

  5. As long as the zombies actually play an important role in the game, not like the TV show where there is way too much human vs human action and the zombies are just an occasional obstacle.

    1. Jesus how stupid are you?

The Walking Dead is about the humans. It isn’t about the zombies.

Even if you had NEVER read one of the current 176 issues of the comic book it’s based on, the show EXPLICITLY said this at the end of Season 2. 6 years ago.

So no. The zombies will not play an important role.
