Modder ‘Sir Reaperrz Custard McButtfuck Esq’ has released a brand new version of his incredible mod for The Witcher 3. The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition overhauls the game’s combat, sword and gameplay mechanics. This is by far the best gameplay mod for The Witcher 3 as it tweaks and adjusts numerous things.
While we consider this a must-have mod for all those returning to the game, those playing the game for the first time should simply stick to its vanilla mechanics. Once you’ve mastered the game’s controls, you can then try this mod.
What’s also really cool is that The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition introduces lots of new stats like attack and dodging speed, poise, adrenaline, vigor and more. These stats are all interconnected and have effects on regeneration rates, values and many other things. Naturally, they also actively affect the gameplay. As such, having less health and stamina will make you attack and regenerate slower unless using certain potions. And as you’d expect, you can check the stats themselves in the character info sheet in your inventory.
Moreover, this mod overhauls the game’s sword mechanics. According to its description, a silver sword is not needed for every monster anymore. Like the previous Witcher games, most monsters will require a steel sword (although silver works too). Cursed creatures, Vampires and Specters will only take damage from silver blades.
Talents and Signs have been majorly overhauled and rebalanced. Moreover, several new speed stats are present in the mod. This means that when dodging, players can take grazing damage.
The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition also improves the game’s combat. Players can now target enemies manually, and they can dance around with more ease. These new stats and combat features (like manual targeting and distance attacks) can open up new possibilities. For example, players can now kill enemies without getting rid of their shields.
YouTube’s ‘Corvah’ has shared a video, showing the new combat mechanics, so be sure to watch it.
Those interested can download the mod from here.
Have fun!

Huh, this mod also removes all the leveling related stuff, that’s interesting.
“There are absolutely no things in the game that are leveled anymore. Not the equipment, not the quests, not the enemies and not even Geralt. You can explore anywhere and take on anything at the beginning of the game with the potential to be successful in your endeavors instead of being completely barred from content.
Geralt’s progression happens organically through gameplay by using his innate abilities, like performing fast and heavy attacks, blocking, countering, creating alchemical items, casting signs, etc. These all increase the skill progression of their respective paths, granting you talent points for use ONLY in that path. If you brew many potions, you will be good at brewing potions. Makes sense.”
A friend of mine might finally be interested in trying this game out.
i’ed say this mod is a MUST for purists like myself
though be warned, the attacks cost stamina can be annoying as hell early game
i’ed say this mod is spot on for the mid-late game when you got your witcher items that can 3-shot almost any solider
I have tried to play the W3 several times but gave up bored due to the dull combat. This maybe what I need 🙂
the combat is the only weak spot on a otherwise fantastic game, but ohhh the combat is bad, ughhh
So much spinning. No need to go to a theme park.
Have you seen vanilla?
Played the entire game when it came out but can’t remember how it played. When i saw this video it felt like it was spinning much more than vanilla.
Maybe i’m wrong
I finished the game last year with a previous version of this mod.
Its a really nice feature to have on replaying this masterpiece.
An absolutely essential mod because cdprojekt knows squat when it comes to game balancing.
“Like the previous Witcher games, most monsters will require a steel sword (although silver works too).”
That’s the opposite of the previous Witcher games. Silver was always used against supernatural creatures while steel was specific to humans and animals.
Dualshockers and DSO are my choices when it comes to good gaming sites that don’t do any clickbait crap
“This is by far the best gameplay mod for The Witcher 3 as it tweaks and adjusts numerous things.”
That’s a terrible excuse to name it the best mod. All mods do those things.
I don’t like it, the enemy AI is not programmed to respond adequately, and it makes the main character too mobile and powerful, turning combat into a button masher.
The original combat was not perfect, but it did the job.
I also hate leveling, it’s a plague of modern games, a wolf should have approximately the same strength, and now a situation when level 1 wolf cannot scratch you, and level 29 wolf tears your head off with one blow. There are no level 29 wolves in nature.
