Blizzard has announced that a new massive update for World of Warcraft: Legion, codenamed Shadows of Argus, will be released next week. Blizzard has not revealed its complete changelog yet, however it did unveil its key features.
According to the company, in Shadows of Argus (Patch 7.3) players will:
- Journey to a hostile new world, where the Legion’s corruption of Argus and the shattered remains of the draenei’s ancestral home can be explored for the first time.
- Join forces with the Army of Light, a band of lost warriors dedicated to combating the Legion, and two champions from Azeroth’s past: Alleria Windrunner and Turalyon, long thought to be lost since the Legion’s last crusade on Azeroth.
- Explore three distinct regions of Argus spanning the fel-scarred surface of Argus (Krokuun), the ancient ruins of an eredar city(Mac’Aree) that floats in the sky, and the planet’s core (Antoran Wastes).
- Conquer the Seat of the Triumvirate (new dungeon), the ancient center of draenei culture, where Velen, Kil’jaeden, and Archimonde once ruled.
- Customize their Artifact’s Relics through the Netherlight Crucible.
- Seal the Legion’s Invasion Points on other worlds.
- Command a drainei vessel and traveling base of operations, the Vindicaar.
Stay tuned for more!

The fight seems to be ramping up. I want to join in, but honestly, my favourite class is still the same as when I last left it, hardly tuned or made more fun to play.
I’m hoping they announce a new expansion during the upcoming Blizzcon, especially since the Battle of Argus will be nearing a close after 3 weeks and well I already know what happens, so they have to announce the next big bad for the next expansion sometime soon. They used to have the luxury of allowing for content droughts, but in recent years they have had to pick up the pace. I imagine them at least leaking info of a new expansion either by Blizzcon this year or during summer 2018.
BlizzCon, definitely.
I expect it’ll be Argus as a continent, building on the areas they’re introducing now & Sargeras’ return, with the Legion being antagonist, unless they take us back to Azeroth in order to do N’zoth, the last of the Old Gods.
Either way, it seems like they’ve finally decided to start wrapping things up, instead of running the game into the ground until it reaches 50,000 subscribers & the server costs are too much to bother with, anymore.
And thank f*ck for that, honestly. Ugh.
I imagine they’ll send us back to Az for the final old god. it seems prime to have us battle on Argus, then hear of N’zoth rearing his ugly head, we go back and duke it out, then head further into space for the next expansion towards the voidlords.
Yeah, the story has honestly been dragged on since 2004, well since before that if we count WCI, so more than 20 years now. Only downside to the ongoing story is the continuity, like what happened in WC1-3, half of which ended up being rewritten or written out entirely. Then we have the current Legion and there being nothing more to the duke out between Sylvanas and Gen (seriously, after that fight, nothing more happened and we don’t know what else is to come from that fight).
Oh please, don’t give them ideas! I’d rather the Void Lords remained exclusive to their little Warlords of Draenor Timeline, then we can wrap this sh*t up even faster….
….. Unless the Void Lords are supposed to ally with N’zoth? Oh sh*t, there, I said it! Uh-oh! >.<
Ugh, poor old Warcraft Trilogy. Though, I am glad they finally took the time to finalise the timeline & everything through the Chronicle book series, even though it cost us a few bits & pieces, in the end.
LOL THE WORGEN STORYLINE 😀
Voidlords have always been Warcraft’s end-game ultimate big bag =P.
Sarg was nearly the second big bad, but the old gods, there be plenty of those.
At least they figured out a semi-intelligent way to sneak them in there, unlike most of the other changes they’ve tried to sneak past us while pretending they were “revelations” all along >.>
You know what really sucks out of all the retcons?, the fact that Medivh was consumed by “fel madness”, not the fact that Sarg was controlling him the entire time.
Also I hate how we’ve waited since BC to see Illidan again, only for him to now sacrifice himself, locking away both him and Sarg away forever, basically tossing away any good character development we could have had.
I sense the Lich King is up to something, either that or Jaina/Sylvanas will snap, I mean jaina did teleport somewhere in a hissy fit, while Sylvanas now has to deal with the fact that she lost her only chance to gather more Valkyrie to help her create more undead and sustain her life.
As we know very well from the mess that was “Remastered Outland” that became “Time Travel to Draenor” & ended up as “Warlords of Draenor”, Blizzard barely has a plan for half of this sh*t, but yeah, I’ve been thinking for years based on that Northrend Loading Screen with the “New Lich King” on it that they’ve some sort of plan for him at some point in the future, in some form or another.
Especially since, he’s just that popular & Northrend remains one of the community’s all-time favourite areas, hands down.
Then again, I don’t know how I feel about them defiling Northrend with Garrison &/or Class Hall bullsh*t, to be fair >..>
