Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo Video released for Legend of YMIR

WEMADE has shared an Unreal Engine 5 Tech Demo video for its upcoming next-generation MMORPG, Legend of YMIR. This tech demo features early in-game graphics, and will give you an idea of what its team aims to create.

Now since this game is in an early development stage, this video does not represent the quality of the final product. And, to be honest, I wasn’t particularly impressed by it. I mean, it looks more like an Unreal Engine 4 game. Seriously, there is nothing next-gen-ish here. As such, I really hope that WEMADE will further enhance the game’s graphics.

Legend of YMIR is a Northern European reinterpretation of the worldview of the previous MIR series. This new MMORPG will recreate MIR’s story in a fantasy setting. Moreover, Legend of YMIR will feature PvP battles in the form of siege battles.

Ironically enough, this new MMORPG will have NFTs. Yeah, this is yet another game that will support NFTs. As such, and if you boycott games using them, we suggest staying away from it.

Enjoy!

  1. “Seriously, there is nothing next-gen-ish here”

This is what happens when a guy with no understanding of game development talks. Dude, the most obvious one is Lumen for gods sake.

    1. half, because lumen is still just aiming for basic b*tch realism but now more on real time, in the end it’s a game that began production as an ue4 title and then will use some of ue5 tech as extra or as goals to make it look better, best example i can think of people glorifying the “next gen” look was with God Fall which was just a unreal 4 game with a shitload of metal but stutters like hell due to poor optmization on the rng procedural stage build system.

i don’t particularly care about either games nowdays are just getting heavier for no apparent reason, meanwhile back in the 360 the realistically looking games still ran on any rig, but nowdays? you will have luck if it runs at 720p 30.

    2. The difference between this footage and a game in UE4 is so obvious (especially for global illumination), that I really wonder what John smoked to say that!

  2. The comment about the graphics shows, again, that John talks about graphics without really understanding most of it. If that looks like ue4 dude…
Your game engine and graphics knowledge is based on reading gaming site articles on them. As in very superficial

  3. LOL! The moment he mentioned NFTs, I’m out! NFT’s does not benefit consumers. It only benefits the companies who profit from it.

  4. “….this is yet another game that will support NFTs.”

“support” is such a nice way of putting it.

How about “… this is yet another game that will try to fist NFTs through to become the norm, in order to have a gaming future where companies sell imaginary items for profit.” ?

I mean, it’s just more grounded and realistic.
