  1. In a way, I kind of consider mobile devices “PCs”, at least the Android ones. Other than the form factor they are very similar in terms of being adaptable multi-function devices, and are a relatively open platform (at least compared to say a game console).

People talk about home PCs dying, but it’s more that everything else is becoming a PC. Or, in the case of game consoles, a sh*t PC.

    1. The power of the PC comes from the open nature of the platform. Consoles and Apple have strict control over their content.

It’s the ‘personal’ part of a personal computer that makes all the difference. When your content is locked down and you can’t modify your own property, it’s very impersonal.

A truly personal computer (of any size, desktop or mobile) is one that gives you full access to the file system and the ability to modify YOUR device as you see fit.

As a long time fan of Apple hardware, I really hate the closed nature of iOS. It doesn’t feel like my* device until I’m able to jailbreak it, theme it, and mod it. I wouldn’t call an unjailbroken iPhone a PC, but it becomes one after you jailbreak it.

  2. Unreal… but you guys better has a ps4 and xboxone version of the same scene, tech demo. Or sonya and unclesoft is gonna rage on you cuz a mobile looks better than a next gen console. Maybe you are gonna need to downgrade the mobile version, so console looks the same or better
…Slowly walking toward my pc, booting up company of heroes 2… thinking…
    PC ULTRA… they said…

  3. Mobiles destroying last gen consoles. Give it a year and they will probably destroy “Next gen” consoles as well.

Of course, PC stands tall in all of this.

  4. Weekly reminder that no game is ever going to look like an Epic tech demo on the system they claim to run the demo on.
