YouTube’s member ’18T220′ has shared a new video, showing Doom’s E1M1 map being recreated in CRYENGINE. 18T220 has used a lot of CRYENGINE’s techniques to bring this re-imagined version of E1M1 to life. You will easily notice – among other things – JJ Abrams’ anamorphic lens-flares, screen-space reflections some lovely water ripples. Enjoy!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Did somebody say amazing? more like nostalgic
I like how the plain textures (from the original characters) casts shadows.
Hope Doom 4 will be good…please be good.
Very cool, but I could do with out the 3rd person and the dudes in the varsity jackets but great none the less.
They did a similar thing in Wolfenstien New Order

Same thing was done in Doom 2, one of the secret levels was a Wolfenstein 3D map.
Now IF they actually remade DOOM in Cryengine, it would be blasphemy of the worst kind. DOOM have its unique look for very good reasons.
Meh…
