Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order – First official in-engine trailer released

Electronic Arts has released the first official in-engine trailer for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. This new Star Wars game will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and this trailer will give you an idea of what you can expect, visually, from it.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is an action-adventure game set after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith. Players will develop their Force abilities, hone their lightsaber techniques, and explore the ancient mysteries of a long-lost civilization—all while staying one step ahead of the Empire and its deadly Inquisitors.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is single-player only and will not have any microtransactions or multiplayer modes, and is currently planned for a November 15th release.

Here are the game’s key features.

  • Cinematic, Immersive Combat – Jedi: Fallen Order delivers the fantasy of becoming a Jedi through its innovative lightsaber combat system–striking, parrying, dodging–partnered with a suite of powerful Force abilities you’ll need to leverage to overcome obstacles that stand in your way. This combat system is intuitive but takes training and practice to fully master its nuances as you gain new powers and abilities along your adventure.
  • A New Jedi Story Begins – As a former Padawan on the run from the Empire, you must complete your training before Imperial Inquisitors discover your plan to revive the Jedi Order. Aided by a former Jedi Knight, a cantankerous pilot and a fearless droid, you must escape the evil machinations of the Empire in a story-driven adventure. Explore and overcome a wide range of challenges focused on combat, exploration and puzzle-solving.
  • The Galaxy Awaits – Ancient forests, windswept rock faces and haunted jungles are all unique biomes you’ll explore in Jedi: Fallen Order, with the freedom to decide when and where you go next. As you unlock new powers and abilities, opportunities open up to re-traverse maps in new ways; leveraging the Force to augment the way you explore. Move quickly, however, as the Empire is actively hunting your every step in their effort to exterminate all remnants of the Jedi Order.

Enjoy!

  1. A white male protagonist!

Did Respawn not get the memo from EA/Lucasfilm/Disney? ?

Meltdown incoming at Polygon, PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Kotaku and Reeeesetera!

  2. Im not expecting much, in fact im expecting something overly cinematic that id likely prefer to watch than play and lets face it, its unlikely to be as bad as The Last Jedi.

  3. “just delete the star wars universe and be done with it”
this is the comment i’m saving for when this game and the new movie comes out.

  4. Looks like bf4 trailer.

If its too cinematic i dont care.

Also is it me or modern game trailers are trash, sure they got the realistic graphics and cinematography but the actual content, the story, the writing the gameplay are all trash, its like they pump those out of a factory production line.

      1. i had more fun lately with japanesse games and i am no weeb nor have i grown up with japanesse games.

        1. If you didn’t grow up with japanese games how are you even pretending to be a gamer? What did you grow up with?

  5. A white male protagonist!

Did Respawn not get the memo from EA/Lucasfilm/Disney? ?

Meltdown incoming at Polygon, PC Gamer, Eurogamer, Kotaku and Reeeesetera…

    1. Did you just assume it’s gender ? it’s a FtM non binary transgender protagonist and a few weeks after launch a patch will address it’s background so you bigots won’t misgender it. just like Apex and it’s characters.

But in reality, it was a s**ty cinematic trailer that has nothing to do with the game just as i thought, i doubte they have anything more than some concepts for the game to show, yet they have to finish and release it in a few months.

      1. Haha! That incident was almost as cringe-worthy as JK Rowling’s most recent retconning woke nonsense for which even some of the mainstream media facepalmed at.

As for the cinematic teaser trailer then one positive aspect I found some encouragement in was seeing wall-running because that was a hugely fun aspect of the Titanfall games so I’m glad to see it return following its disappointing absence from Apex Legends.

    2. You realise why its a white man as the protagonist right? Its to enable comments like these and keep this other camp happy. Its a boardroom decision man. Same as Battlefield V was.

      Never buy into EA.

    3. You’re assuming the kiddo in the movie is actually even in the game.

IDK why people are doing this. This video doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the game a tall. It wouldn’t be the first time a completely fake trailer was used for a game.

  6. Every single Youtube comment trashing EA. It’s almost like the fanbase is trying to tell them something.

  7. Halo TMCC PC announcement had way more hype surrounding it than this multi-platform Star Wars video game. Hardly anyone is talking about this game. I wonder what could be the reason for such a flat reception. Perhaps the Star Wars brand is not as strong as it once was.

    1. Halo games have better gameplay than EA games.

EA games have boring gameplay with scripted enemies, Halo games use AI controlled enemies (bots). Its more fun because you can control how smart it is. I can;t beat Halo on legendary on my console but I will try one more time on PC with mouse. It should be much easier

  8. The main plot sounds pretty cool, being hunted by the Empire as one of the last Jedi?! Hell yes sign me up but…this feels similar to The Force Unleashed games which were fine but far from great. Why on earth can’t we get a KOTOR or a Jedi Academy like game? It’s god damn Star Wars for the love of god. Let’s just hope the gameplay will be solid.

    1. “but…this feels similar to The Force Unleashed games ”

      YOU DONT SAY?

This is when i saw the character doing force power staff i was like “HMMM SMELLS LIKE FORCE UNLEASHED”

“Why on earth can’t we get a KOTOR or a Jedi Academy like game?”

because those games were made by talented people with passion.

      1. Anyone holding jedi academy up as an example of a good SW game has never actually played Jedi Academy, or a good SW game.

Academy was little more than a stand alone expansion pack to Jedi Outcast. Jedi Outcast was the good game.

The saber combat was WAY better in Force Unleashed – granted, you onyl ever fought a couple other people that had a saber. Considering JK2 and JA are built on Quake engine which only ever worked for shooters – which JK2 and JKA were – it was a miracle the sabers worked at all.

        1. “Anyone holding jedi academy up as an example of a good SW game has never actually played Jedi Academy, or a good SW game.”

          GET OUT

“The saber combat was WAY better in Force Unleashed”

GET OUT AND COMMIT SEPPUKU ON YOURSELF IN DISGRACE.

          FORCE UNLEASHED WAS MEDIOCRE GARBAGE.

          1. It really wasn’t.

You blatantly haven’t played the 3D JK games. Saber combat was flat out trash both in single and multiplayer. It may have had dismemberment, if you used console and mods to amp it up, but it was a first person shooter. Saber play was not good, period.

Take it online and it was even worse. It was fun only because it was so utterly ridiculous with 20 people running around trying to saber each other.

          2. F*k off, i played them well past the launch window, when not only mods but clans and additional rules were introduced.

You never learned how to play and come here to talk sh*t.
You bring no arguments, you blame the mechanics for crappy players, that’s like watching a Street Fighter match between 2 noobs and saying the game is crap.
While defending the baseball bat mechanics of TFU no less.

Go back to your x,x,b,a combos, now that’s real skill!!!!

          3. In terms of SP Outcast was way better than Academy, better story, better progression, better level design, more balanced combat (Academy, un-modded, has the disease of more).

But indeed get out of here with the dial a combo combat of Force Unleashed.

          4. Dial a combo i.e the way almost every hack and slash ever made is designed? lol, kids.

Yea. So much worse than the HORRID random garbage lightsaber combat where you literally couldn’t control what move you did. It’s obvious you didn’t play the JK2 games and see the utter failures at saber duels that happened online where people tried endlessly to do the backflip decapitation move and it never worked because it wasn’t controllable.

Or the constant blind swinging that looked like kids with a pinata.

          5. You couldn’t control what move you did? It was the game that had the most control over your attacks i can remember.
It was context sensitive, strafe right>left to right strike, step forward top downward hack, don’t blame the combat system for the unskilled spamming special moves.

For a skilled person that system was all about timing which is way better than “this enemy is vulnerable to this combo/force power, spam it forever”.

Boss fights were terrible keep hitting him with your baseball bat(or force repulse) in TFU which is not something a lightsaber duel should be.
And that’s in the controlled environment of SP boss battle, i can only imagine what junk it would be if it had PvP.

I’m super glad the alternative to dial a combo is gaining strength recently thanks to Frome, dial a combo requires no skill just memorization.

  9. Disney and EA have a lot of work to do with the Star Wars IP after systematically ripping the IP to pieces and feeding on it like wolves for the last few years (more for EA). They’ve managed to make Star Wars not feel like Star Wars anymore. Been watching the SWC streams and they are trying waaaaaay too hard to sell more crap vs reigniting excitement for the characters and lore for the millions of former hardcore fans who could now not care less about it anymore (like me). The panel was great, but the rest has been mostly merchandising promotions and EA ads, just a joke.

The single decency Disney did with the IP was with having JJ just keeping TFA the same old same old like OT; at least it was still a goddamn Star Wars movie and I very much enjoyed it. Then Johnson took a sh*t on it and TLJ went left turn into another identity. THIS is what has brought so much fatigue across the internet from arguing with idiots bombarding us with “shut up and accept it nerd.” The damn hamfisted redirection and stupidity suddenly injected MID-trilogy was baffling. Now hardly anyone is excited for the SWJ:FO or the Galaxy’s Edge sw land at DL. The new movie has given me hope, but with JJ doing it, that means Disney is playing it safe. I would love to see Villeneuve or Nolan do a SW movie, or trilogy.

With the execs’ confused tugging and redirections of ALL the Star Wars related products (movies, games, themeparks, collectables, clothing, etc etc et), I doubt anyone is going to be as hyped as they were years ago. I for one need to see real products – as I’ve repeated.

Anyways just my typical Star Wars rant of the minute.

    1. Except TFA was trash. It was a Star Wars movie in that it was literally a remake of Star Wars. Everything about it was trash, though. Just a rehash with worse characters, poor writing, etc.

  10. Makes me wonder why they cancelled visceral SW project.

Im conflicted about this one its respawn(titanfall 2) but it still EA.

Gonna keep an eye on this one.

    1. Probably becouse the other game was still in early stages unlike this which was already nearing the end of its development. Im sure EA felt it wasnt worth investing any more money into singleplayer games for the foreseeable future.

  11. Has Star Wars ever been as unimportant as it is in this day and age? My god, how the mighty have fallen.

This game won’t be doing anything to change it in a positive sense either.

    1. Fact that it’s SP only will count for something.

Easier for people to quietly purchase and see for themselves.

    2. Star Wars still feels as great as it ever did when one views the Disney era as being non-canon. ?

Heck, even Disney now arguably view their own work as being non-canon given that JJ is seemingly set on undoing the wreckage of Ruin Johnson.

  12. Gamers will believe anything they hear these days. I wonder how many games we’ve heard the same claim from, then renege on 2-6 weeks after release. Why are gamers so gullible and stupid. One of the many mysteries of life I fear I may never figure out. Trailer and a words from the mouth of people hired by EA is all it takes to get them excited for potential rubbish. Whatever happened to wait and see?.. instead it’s hype and take my money…

    1. show me one game director who said ”No micro transactions no multiplayer and then lied and changed his words and the final product
      i will wait :))
besides this is Respawn we are talking about.

        1. Why are you responding to that idiot? Only someone that lives under a rock, is being desingenious or NOT a gamer wouldn’t have experienced everything I outlined. Don’t take the bait man.

    2. Exactly, remember For Honor? “All add-ons will be free. The will be no season pass”. I laughed when they said that and I said BS, many people jumped down my throat and said, “they said there won’t be” and now For Honor has NO Honor among with Season 10 or 20 at this point. There are so many instances of this is shameful.

Oh yeah and my GF also tells me I’M the best lover she’s ever had. No one can compare, according to her. BAHAHAHAHA!

  13. Now that’s a trailer that says and gives nothing…

Disney and EA ruined SW for me long ago, I don’t think I can ever enjoy their versions of the galaxy.

The Old Republic era is by far better.

  14. Theres a good reason the Force Unleashed games disappeared without a trace. I would love a singleplayer star wars game, but by that i mean an open world style rpg, NOT some shallow linear action game. Cinematic combat? Thats a /NOPE from me dawg…

    1. Sorry open world is Schitt, it’s been done. Every bloody game is open world. And your BS excuse for why the Force Unleashed Disappeared is Desingenious BS. They were popular games and did extremely well. Your insinuations is not why they exists no longer & you should no better. I’ll take a linear game over open world rubbish anyway. Open worlds are all bait switch and no substance these days. Bring on the linearity fool.

  15. he is not seen in rogue one movie, not seen on eps 4 movie, not seen on eps 7 movie either, so where is he now, EA ?? >.<

  16. Aren’t “cinematic” and “immersive” polar opposites?

How does one have cinematic, yet immersive, combat? The entire point of being cinematic is that it looks like you’re watching it.

  17. Aren’t “cinematic” and “immersive” polar opposites?

  18. They say it’s not gonna have microtransactions and the only thing you hear in the trailer is “trust no one”

    ( ?° ?? ?°)
