Star Wars: Battlefront is almost upon us but before DICE getting its hands on it, Free Radical was working on a new part of the Battlefront series. Yesterday, YouTube’s ‘ptoponline’ released a video showing new footage from this cancelled title. And yes, Battlefront III featured space battles. Keep in mind that the following footage was pre-alpha. Enjoy!

Bet this version did not have emotes as Exclusive Deluxe Edition content.. Or better yet… UuuuuuLTIMATE EDITION!!!! XD DLC you are not.
Much better aesthetic look than ( just look at the background it looks like an actual war) the current white-ish, grey-ish rubbish that dice made. And this looks quite badass, other than the graphix this seems like it would have been more entertaining than the current Battlefield/front 3.
Wow, the Map…. It’s huge 😮
Thanks yet again, EA! I’ll make sure to buy all your products in the foreseeable future, just like I’ve done in the past!
hahahaha wow wow wow.. all I have to say THIS is better than the new Star Wars game beta we played… way way way better!
Still better than new Battlefront, this space to ground map concepts are amazing!
they should cancel EA stars war battlefront and work on this again 🙂
Gameplay and animation aside, this gameplay still looks so much better than the rebranded call of duty/battlefield we have from EA. I’m sure it will be fun, but This has a different feel about it.
Sigh… Stuff like this always makes me sad. Reminds me of Alan Wake 2’s prototype. Why good games always suffer this fate while craptastic games sell the most every year?
Is it wrong to be more excited about a game that will never see the light of day? I just cant get hyped about the Battlefront game from EA..
It is sad that games nowdays cant deliver such enviroments.
NOW THIS IS A STAR WARS GAME DONE RIGHT,well “done”….more like CANCELLED.
FOR SURE this game,if it wasn’t cancelled it would’ve been the BEST Star Wars game.SPACE BATTLES hwo need’s them,Campaign no sir, memorable STORY fu.. that, let’s make BATTLEFRONT sry Star Wars Battlefield….that’s NEXT GEN STUFF.DICE you ruined my HOPE in achieveing THE FORCE.shame on you EA.
WHAT the f are you talking ABOUT? YOU haven’t even played the GAME so you really can’t say anyTHING about what could HAVE BEEN.
To be fair this footage looked f’ing awesome.
I HAVE BEEN SARCASTIC this game Battlefront III looks amazing in comparision with the new upcoming one. the new one is just Battlefield in Star Wars universe, ahhhh only multiplayer. ALL OTHER BATTLEFRONT’S had CAMPAIGN. ahh STAR WARS is about STORY. see the movies man, a new movie will be in this december, so yea is about STORY.
P.S. yeah i DIDN’T play it but hey space battles in the new one ANGRY JOE said that is not gona happen, price for deluxe edition is 69.99 and you don’t have acces for season pass, for 120 you will have season pass, and that consist in 3 new planets, some skins and some cheap stuff. by the way for 10 bucks you will get in deluxe edition 2 animations. GREAT GAME the new BATTLEFRONT. only if George Lucas….
Seeing this shows what a travesty EA’s BattlefrontField 4 game is in comparison. I guess the 5 year olds on Xbox One will be happy with it. I am not buying your game EA. This pre-alpha footage looks far better, and I weep for what could have been.
But, Star Wars Battlefront WILL have amazing space battles and a campaign mode!EA/Dice just announced a 50$ dlc…
Oh my god… People, this is CONCEPT. This game has NEVER been playable. Yes, concepts really can be amazing, but well, they are sometimes hard to make into real video game.
This game got cancelled because project was too ambitious and could have not been done properly. What the hell this has to do with DICE’s Battlefront?
