Cloud Imperium has released a new trailer for Star Citizen, showcasing all the new features that will be included in its Alpha 3.0 version. Some of them are moon landings, planetary rover, and the Nox hover speeder. It looks great, so be sure to watch the trailer after the jump!

Been waiting a LONGGGG time for this. Now let’s hope the backend isn’t holding us at 40% gpu usage and 35fps.
3.0 only has a partial implementation of the new netcode, so do not expect it to be fully fixed, it will be a minor improvement.
Im aware sadly 🙁
i still remember when they said the game was build to take advantage of more advance raw power on PC. back then GTX680 /HD7970 is the flagship GPU. they said when they come out with the game they expect both GPU will be the mainstream GPU on PC. now such performance already entering the low end spectrum (GTX1050ti) and we still did not know exactly when this game will “truly” finished.
Looking awesome and I can’t wait to try out 3.0. This is really shaping up to be something extraordinary, and I’ll happily give them another five years to get a game the PC platform can be proud of, instead of some garbage that has been butchered to run on last weeks hardware and rushed out by greedy publishers.
Can a good rig even play this game at good frame rates on high settings? By a good rig I mean 980ti + or is it still sorting out the optimisation?
Its pretty well optimized. I can get 30 fps on medium on a GTX 960M (laptop) so yeah, it’s decent but they have a long ways to go.
Network backend is holding back. They’re improving/fixing it. Otherwise it’s smooth when you trick the game and play offline. Like it goes from 30fps to 70fps no joke.
will this game be released someday?
yes
no
Does any of the Star Citizen alpha build content run natively in VR or is Elite Dangerous the better game in VR for the time being?
In VR i’d say stick to elite.
Thanks. I’ll probably pick it up in the next Steam sale as the recent sale ended just before I took delivery of my VR device.
How about you do your research before misinforming people?
This trailer is NOT made by CIG, it’s a sizzle reel made by PC Gamer, hence why it’s only on their channel.
This montage includes footage of things that will not be in 3.0
Not an official trailer. Was never featured on Star Citizen.
but the contents are
It’s presented as a 3.0 trailer. Which it is not.
Apparently some of those ships and wrecks wont even be in Alpha 3.0. Looking forward to seeing the rest though.
Video made by PCGamer, they have a bunch of incorrect footage that is not 3.0 related.
forever alpha…lmao.keep buying those ships suckers.they arnt going to give up this cash cow for a long time.let them milk you for every dime you got..lmao
Drink bleach lmao
get a life.
Says the cúnt who spends his time spamming every SC article.
Stupid is as stupid does. That’s a Forrest Gump Quote btw
Chris Roberts Well, just
at least BF4 you can buy the base game. and then more stuff were added after that in form of DLC. the same cannot be said about SC. the project was quite ambitious to begin with. but they need one goal post instead of keep moving it.
Yes, you could buy BF4 once Dice had already developed it, that’s true. The same cannot be said about SC because that was the point; to crowd fund, to fund and then develop. SC is still ambitious, which is probably why it’s taking so damn long. Stretch goals ended in 2014.
There haven’t been any new goals for years.
The goal post moving stopped once the last funding stretch goal was reached.
So what is your problem?
did i say i have any problem with it? why when some people try to point out the concerned about this game has always been taken as attacking the game?
Don’t care whether or not you’re “attacking” the game, just don’t appreciate the spread of misinformation.
so you must be backer? i get it.
The things I’ve been saying have not changed since I backed the project.
Lol you still haven’t bothered correcting the article.
Video is made by PCGamer, it is an unofficial trailer, no affiliation with CIG, and 1/3 of the footage has nothing to do with 3.0.
